Book Description

Wild Adapter October 2, 2007
From the creator of Saiyuki and Saiyuki ReloadHoping to pick up information on Wild Adapter and perhaps Tokito's forgotten past, Kubota and Tokito infiltrate a popular cult that preaches a return to a more animalistic level of humanity. But the yakuza are still hot on their tail, and there is a lot more to this new religion than just meditation and ritual chanting! And once you join up, the only way out may be on a stretcher..."Having read it repeatedly...I'm eager for more. Minekura has brought potentially outlandish story elements into service of a surprisingly nuanced, character-driven drama." --ComicWorldNews.com"Famed for the manga Saiyuki, Minekura offers up more boys' own wild adventures in this series." --Publishers Weekly

5.0 out of 5 stars Kazuya Minekura is a Goddess of Manga, September 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wild Adapter Volume 3 (v. 3) (Paperback)
Every volume of this Saga is amazing. Kazuya Minekura's art is absolutely fantastic and very unique, and she has a way of writing that sets her apart from other mangaka. If your're looking at volume 3, you already know what the story is about (if not, go check it out and I PROMISE you wont be sorry), so I just want to say it does in fact just keep getting better. In this one, we find out a little more about Tokito's past, but not too much (Minekura-sensei is such a tease). It does continue to portray the complex, unique nature of their relationship, as well as dives headfirst into the messy topic of religion and "god," as she likes to do. It's gritty, it's compelling, it's intelligent, and it's still fun. I love this series, and I think anyone else would too, especially if you like any other other work.

If you do like this series, I recommend Saiyuki, if you haven't read it already. I know it was pretty mainstream, but the manga is absolutely amazing, especially if you take initiative and go on to read Saiyuki Gaiden- a prequel from 500 years ago. I also recommend you do some digging and find her other stuff, because it's all wonderful. Even her short one-shots are amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild Adapter in Japanese, July 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this manga in Japanese on accident (I can't read Japanese) and just decided it wasn't worth the hassle to send it back. I can say that the customer service was excellent, though. I was updated every few days on the status of my order, and if I could read Japanese I would buy more from this seller.
