W.A. volume 4, August 3, 2008
This review is from: Wild Adapter Volume 4 (Paperback)
W.A. Four delves more deeply into Kubota and Tokito's relationship with the entrance of a previous love interest and false murder charges brought against Kubo by a police investigator with an agenda against him. While Kubota is in police custody for interrogation Tokito has to clear his name. More than ever, the story examines what Kubo and Tokito mean to one another. It's characteristically bleak but the story line is touching, the characters are oddly endearing and the art is very beautiful. My only complaint is that the "Wild Adapter" logo on the covers is extremely ugly and campy; the original covers used the same illustrations but the title design was slick and lovely with a watermark look. I can't say why Tokyopop chose that design.
