1.0 out of 5 stars Much too expensive for the content compared to other texts., January 7, 2007
This review is from: Wild Animal Care and Rehabilitation Manual (Paperback)
"Very sadly, this book is required for preparation for Wildlfe Rehabilitaion exam in most States. The absolutely outragious cost of this privately published paperback book (used for $610.00) keeps thousands of intelligent people from being able to take the tests. This is criminal and costs animals lives" "The 'content' of this book is far too expensive, and some very outdated, compared to the outragious price of this paperback." "Sadly this high price is costing many wild animals their lives, because future rehabers are not being certified because of this outragious price" This is a real shame and quite embarrasing for the rehab community- "M. Chambers, Atlanta"

1.0 out of 5 stars sinful, January 13, 2009

Required for licensing in NJ also. Obtained a copy and keep for reference but have never used it. NJ Fish and Game is in control of licensing and DOES discourage rehab. Much of the information is now outdated. It was, at the time it was published, a top notch comprehensive book. As with all scientific research new information is added or negates old beliefs. Sad, sad, for the animals and those who are willing to help. Look to online groups of rehab people by animal, they can recommend books specific to species.
