It is said that 1 000 years ago Filgaia was a prosperous fertile world protected by the mythical Guardians. Until one ill-fated day when the evil race of Metal Demons brutally invaded peaceful Filgaia. The war stripped the Guardians of all their power and left the land in ruins. Only a devastated wasteland remained. Now three warriors hear the call of the Guardians. Filled with faith and courage the warriors will plunge into the wasteland on a quest for the ancient relics that may save this desperate world. A world where legends become reality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wild Arms, December 20, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wild Arms (Video Game)
While at first the graphics may seem outdated, the gameplay and storyline more then make up for it. The deep 3d battles pull you into the adventure. While many RPG's may be limited towards freedom, Wild Arms is an exception. With tons of secrets and side quests, you'll want to play it numerous times just to see everything. This game is strongly recomended for anyone who likes a great RPG.

5.0 out of 5 stars And So the RPG Fanaticism began. . ., August 21, 2002

This review is from: Wild Arms (Video Game)
It was a long time ago that Wild Arms entered the gaming world as the second RPG on the PS (the first being Beyond the Beyond in '95), but a long time doesn't really change anything, for I have yet to see an RPG that has surpassed the quality that was shown here. Sure the graphics are good ol' 2-D, but if you're one of those shallow people who can't get by the look of the game, then stop reading . . . NOW! I don't want you reading this. Cause this game is for the people who love the characters they play as; people who feel for them and care for them as they pass through the different stages of the game. I have always said that playing an RPG is like reading a fantasy/sci-fi novel, so anyone who differs in opinion can laugh or mock all they want, but this is for the TRUE gamer.
This game offers so much that I can barely describe it. The music is absolutely amazing, the characters are even better, and the plot, well, that is the best! So what if it's the typical save the world type plot! If you consider yourself a RPGer, or a gamer, get this immediately, you will not regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly great storyline, July 22, 2001

"Wild Arms" probably has one of the better story lines that I have seen in console RPGs. At the beginning, you play the three different characters separately; this basically let's you get used to the strengths and weaknesses of each character. Shortly after this, all three meet up, and they pretty much stay together for the rest of the game. Not only are the characters interesting people, but the plot is very well done and executed (though it is one of those save the world plots). Combat in the game was pretty fun (or at least I thought so), though I can see where some people might not like it as there really isn't a whole lot of strategy to it. Some of the puzzles in "Wild Arms" can be a little challenging, but most of them are not too hard to figure out. The game has one thing that some people might consider a downside (I didn't); pretty much everything in the game was polygonal making the graphics a bit dated for the time. One thing I almost forgot to mention is the game introduction: when you first start up the game, you are treated to an anime style production that introduces you to all the characters. This game is a lot of fun to play and well worth spending the money for it.
