Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

The spectacular story of the American flyboys from the first warplane in 1909 is vividly told in this fascinating production. As part of the remarkable In Defense of Freedom series (narrated by Ken Howard), The Wild Blue Yonder probes the history of the United States Air Force from World War I to the Middle East Crisis. This is The United States Air Force Story, containing exciting footage of the American/German dogfights of the First World War. The Flying Tigers in action over the Pacific and the precision bombing of German factories that signaled the end of World War II. You'll witness the Enola Gay flying over Hiroshima, the supersonic battles of the Korean War, and the bombing of North Vietnam. These and other dramatic events document the incredible history of the Air Force that has served and protected this country throughout the 20th century - an important program to keep for all collectors of historic material.

This review is from: The Wild Blue Yonder - The United States Air Force Story [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I also bought this movie from Amazon only to find out its a USAF documentary not the 1951 WWII Classic B-29 Film. Maybe someday Amazon will straighten out the two identical titles;

Thanks, Rick, for the warning. I bought this item from Amazon five years ago only to discover it was not the classic Republic Studio propaganda film about the development of the B-29 in WWII, with Forrest Tucker and Wendell Cory in a love triangle, and Phil Harris of Jack Benny fame providing musical and comedy relief. I informed Amazon of this oversight, and they said they would fix it. Guess they got too busy...

4.0 out of 5 stars There is a mix-up here., August 4, 2007
This review is from: The Wild Blue Yonder - The United States Air Force Story [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Wild Blue Yonder" and "The Wild Blue Yonder" are two entirely different things. The former is from the 50's and the later is a documentary. Please correct the descriptions.
