Editorial Reviews

With his milestone film, The Wild Bunch, director Sam Peckinpah upped the ante on screen violence and redefined the Western in the process. This 2-disc Special Edition contains the original director's cut with commentary by Peckinpah biographers, previously unreleased footage, three documentaries and more

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild, Wild, Bunch - The Peckinpah Special, May 21, 2008
This review is from: The Wild Bunch Special Edition - Widescreen (DVD)
This is a man's man movie, and Sam Peckinpah's best. Maybe going out on a limb here by saying this might be the best western of all time, superb acting, legendary actors, legendary director, (PECKINPAH'S trademark cinematography), plenty of tequila, senoritas, shooting - lots of gunplay, and a fouled up robbery with an explosive opening scene with a thunderous ending, most of all, a damn good kick a-- western. What more can I say except a definite must for your shelf. It doesn't get better than this folks. Make sure you purchase the new remastered special edition. The old blue cover is letterbox without special features. (c,mon you lazy bas----! I'm coming Pike!)
