5.0 out of 5 stars Marine goes Wild over Wild Cat, March 31, 2004
This review is from: Wild Cat and the Marine: A Little Secret (Harlequin Superromance No. 1156) (Mass Market Paperback)
This SuperRomance lives up to its genre! Jade Taylor writes a love story that is out of the ordinary, the ending was anything but the usual. I loved this book and found myself laughing and crying before I finished it. Catherine is a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants, if not where it's at. She is not wimpy woman in distress; she faces her distress head on and handles whatever is thrown her way. Jackson Gray is, well, gray. He is indecisive as in wants his cake and to eat it to. Not until he learns to make a life-changing decision, either black or white, does he reap any lasting rewards. Lots of inner turmoil that was very believable. I recommend this book to anyone -- tough marines or soft hearted ladies. Well done Jade Taylor! I look forward to your next book. Cindy Leslie

4.0 out of 5 stars delightful second chance relationship drama, September 18, 2003
This review is from: Wild Cat and the Marine: A Little Secret (Harlequin Superromance No. 1156) (Mass Market Paperback)
In Engerville, North Dakota, Jackson and Catherine Darnell were sweethearts that everyone just knew would stay together. However, Jackson hated farm life more than he loved his "Wild Cat" and he leaves town the first chance he gets.

Several years later, Jackson returns home to temporarily help his ailing father work the family farm. When he sees Cat, he wants to rekindle what he killed, but also fears getting to close to her and her precocious daughter Joey because he is sure he will blow town a second time. Though she still loves him, Cat avoids Jackson for she fears how he will react if he learns that he left behind two females when he broke her heart years ago.

Though the motif of a man not knowing he sired a child has been used quite frequently by the genre, WILD CAT AND THE MARINE avoids being trite and jaded due to Cat. Readers will rarely find as deep a character from her nurturing to her loving to her fears that make her seem so real. In comparison, Jackson comes across weak, unable to commit even with love in the offering. Though Joey is too cute, Jade Taylor provides a delightful second chance relationship drama.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book ever, September 16, 2003
This review is from: Wild Cat and the Marine: A Little Secret (Harlequin Superromance No. 1156) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was completely swept away with this wonderfully written, passionate work. The characters were realistic and reminded me of people I know. I want to meet Jackson! Cat was a sensible, strong woman deeply in love and adamantly determined not to hold back the man she truly loved. What a story line!

I can't wait until the next book by Jade Taylor hits the shelves!
