3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good romance :), June 18, 2001
This review is from: Wild Desire (Topaz Historical Romances) (Paperback)
Stephanie Helton was a woman photographer which was rare in a man's world back in the 1800s. She traveled from Kansas on a private spur with her brother, Adam, eager to take pictures of the Arizona territory for the Santa Fe Railroad company. She was more eager to discover the lands of the Navaho and meet the famous "White Indian."

Runner was taken in by his adoptive parents Leonida and Sage when he was five years old after his mother passed away. Quickly adapting to the ways of the Navaho he became one with them and abandoned his learning's of the white man. He would let nothing or no one endanger the Navaho and stood firm in his beliefs until he encountered Stephanie.

Brought together by the railroad and also by the fact that Stephanie's step brother is a long time friend of Runner, these two fall head over heels in love and are desperate to find a way to be together. There are also fond encounters with Sage and Leonida, the couple from Wild Embrace, and Pure Blossom their daughter who is a resemblance to her namesake. Thunder Hawk is also weaved into the story as a stubborn boy who is eager to become a man. There are a lot of love affairs in this novel and while I fell in love with each of them I felt that some of them weren't up to par. There just didn't seem to be a reason why they weren't worked out probably or why these couples were put together at all. It was kinda upsetting. However the love of Stephanie and Runner was beautiful as was seeing Sage and Leonida again, although I feel Sage wasn't half the man he was in Wild Embrace. Pretty good book, but wasn't excellent.
