5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent new adventure - plus Quicktime info
First of all, here is the official word from the FAQs at Wild Divine site re the Quicktime problem:
QuickTime 7.0 is a beta version program and they have not worked out all the bugs yet with different software programs. They are working on this and you should expect to find a downloadable driver here soon to correct this problem.

The information written in the system requirements above is wrong. Wild Divine: Wisdom Quest will NOT run on a Windows computer running Quicktime 7 (the current version of quicktime). This means that if you use any application that requires Quicktime 7, such as iTunes, or have Quicktime Pro, Wisdom Quest will not run on your system.

That being said, it seems like (from the review just below mine) the Quicktime problem is "solved" now with the newest Quicktime update. NEVER trust a beta (wink).

It's here and definitely worth the wait. I am enjoying Wisdom Quest even more than The Passage. While I took pleasure in the latest installment first as a game, I now use Wisdom Quest in Guided mode as an ongoing "energy training" tool.

I am very pleased to have worked my way up to the extra hard level in just a month -- enjoying both the challenge and the accomplishment. I am sure I will return to game mode again in the future. It is always a pleasure to retreat to The Wild Divine.

Wisdom Quest builds on skills and characters in the original Wild Divine -The Passage. While some of the many new features include 360 degree panning, guided activity mode (a click and pick selection of some of the more popular events) and LEVELS of difficult (Thank you Wild Divine!), the biggest improvement in my mind is the scope of the adventure.

There is so much more to explore. The details seem richer, the vistas broader and the journey more expansive. Most of us were thrilled with the original Wild Divine and Wisdom Quest is definitely a worthwhile successor. There is more to do, new mentors to meet and old friends to reacquaint with. Help is available along the way for asking and if you really miss something an optional fairy will give you some hints.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great New Expansion Pack -- Works with Quicktime 7.0.4, January 13, 2006
By
This review is from: The Journey to Wild Divine Biofeedback Software Expansion Pack for PC & Mac: Wisdom Quest (Health and Beauty)
So, after a few months of enjoying The Passage--the first release from The Wild Divine Project--I decided to check out this new release, which uses the same biofeedback hardware (you have to have The Passage's hardware to use Wisdom Quest). I am very happy with my decision.

Wisdom Quest is kind of a continuation of The Passage, but several of the events are a little more challenging. The graphics are just as stunning as those in the first game, and there are a bunch of new mentors, including Deepak Chopra and Dean Ornish. One of the new mentors is a very cute, very helpful little girl. All in all, it's safe to say that if you liked The Passage, you'll like this release. The Wild Divine is definitely onto something, specifically marrying modern technology with an application that's both fun and good for you!

Re: Quicktime, I'm using Wisdom Quest with Version 7.0.4, and having no problems. I'm not sure about past versions, but since 7.0.4 is free, it would appear that this compatibility issue is moot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wisdom Quest impressions, January 13, 2007

I am not especially devoted to computer games, but everyone in my family is so I know what it means to be. In fact, I've played only a few PC games (Myst, for example) that I thought were worth my time at all. Then came The Journey to Wild Divine, which was recommended in Dr Daniel Amen's "Brain in the News" email newsletter. I am hear to say that this is the PC game I have been waiting for. I can't find the words to say how perfect it is--the screens are fabulously rendered in minute colorful detail (Journey and Wisdom Quest are honestly a visual treat), and the soundtrack has music so lovely that it leaves me speechless.

The game itself is totally unique in my experience. I am no stranger to the idea of biofeedback and I've always wanted to use it, but now it is really here for me to do! I sit there and control the game play with my thoughts! OMG, it is like future shock--my family sits around with Nintendo controllers and keyboards manically blasting bad guys, while I sit there placidly challenged to lower or raise the actual energy level of my mnd/body. The game screen shows me what I need to do. For instance, the Journey and Wisdom Quest both put me in the first-person role of an archer. I use the mouse to draw back the arrow and release it, but I *mentally* control where the bow is pointed. In Journey, this archery skill is designed to help the player learn the mind and body 'language' for interacting with the game, but in Wisdom Quest, the archery task is harder, and progress through the game depends on it.

Wisdom Quest has a way to set the play for easy/medium/or hard.

We have been informed that they are currently working on the issue, but can't give a timeline for when it will be resolved.

As it stands now, unless you are willing to limit your system to an old version of Quicktime, with no guarantee that you will ever be able to use Wisdom Quest on a updated computer system, you will probably not want to purchase this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Wild Divine is quite the Journey!, August 20, 2006

The Wild Divine is an extremely motivating program. Learning about one's self and the power that we all have within is worth every penny spent on the program. You are able to learn life lessons, mediation's, and skills you may never have been aware you possessed.
I highly recommend this product. I am almost ready to move on the the next level and can hardly wait to do so. This program is so beautifully animated and musically scored, it is a wonder it it not much more expensive.
Buy this program and take a chance on yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wisdom Quest, March 10, 2007

Wisdom Quest picks up right where The Passage leaves off. Not only do you need The Passage for the hardware, but also because you need to know many of the techniques taught in The Passage.

Like The Passage, the music and the visuals are absolutely gorgeous - although there are a few spots with one-dimensional foliage. (Did somebody rush to meet a deadline?) There are new breathing and meditation techniques to learn here, and some are difficult, leaving me a bit light-headed.

However, unlike The Passage, there really is a story here to follow, a Quest to accomplish. There is more inventory (although some of the items made no sense to me), and plenty of surprises. If you get stuck with some of the Myst-like puzzles, there's a Training Manual - Guided Activity Mode included that will help you find the challenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes you to the next level of training exercises, September 23, 2007

Hi, I enjoyed "The Passage" very much and finished it in a single day on a weekend and started to feel some real challenges in being able to relax enough toward the end. "Wisdom Quest" is even better! However, as I had hoped it would be, the training exercises are much more challenging even on the very easy level compared to "The Passage". So, in addition, I am training with the "emWave" by HearthMath while at work (doesn't interfere with working) and as often as I can. Wisdom Quest is challenging me to relax and let go to a much deeper level right to the edge of awake and asleep and very very relaxed. If you enjoyed "The Passage", this is an entertaining way to take this to the next level. However, in order to even succeed often requires staying completely in the present moment and completely detached from any expectation of how long it will take and even that kind of desire slows you down. Being timeless and following your breath and detaching from everything gets me where I want to go and it is an excellent way to let go of the stresses of life. I look forward to where all of this can go in the future!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better thanThe Passage, October 30, 2007
This review is from: The Journey to Wild Divine Biofeedback Software Expansion Pack for PC & Mac: Wisdom Quest (Health and Beauty)
I have had the Journey of the Wild Divine "The Passage" for a few months and found it to be a great meditation tool that I share with my 8 year old grand daughter. I find the "Wisdom Quest" is even better because you can change the mode from easy to hard. It comes with a training manual that gives you better insight into each activity. I look forward to finding time daily to explore "The Journey". The graphics and music will take you on a beautiful peaceful journey everytime you put on the "blue magic rings".

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than Journey, March 22, 2008

This review is from: The Journey to Wild Divine Biofeedback Software Expansion Pack for PC & Mac: Wisdom Quest (Health and Beauty)
I rated Journey to the Wild Divine a 5 despite its problems because it worked. However, it is almost juvenile compared to Wisdom Quest. The music in Journey was so bad at times that I actually turned off the sound. Wisdom Quest uses chant and easy instrumental. It's much more conducive to the meditative, peaceful results those of us who enjoy the games are after. The graphics have also improved. And, unlike Journey, if you're going through the game for the 2nd or 3rd time, and you don't want to wait on the graphics, you can left click on your mouse to skip through them. Wisdom Quest has more interactive activities. The "challenge" levels, which I put in quotes because it's a challenge to be more centered and meditative, increase as the game continues. The challenge also includes various types of meditative breathing, including what we used to call in yoga the "Breath of Fire", or the breathing to raise your energy, often immediately followed by the peaceful breath. What a wonderful teaching aid. And, Wisdom Quest has more helpful instruction on meditation. I have asked if there are plans to make a 3rd game. I was disappointed to find out there was not. I guarantee I will be the first in line to purchase another game if the creators change their mind. I only have two complaints. The first is actually a warning to the new user. There is a part near the beginning of Wild Divine that requires you to make an offering of a pear. If you don't pick up the pear when you first come across the bridge in the balloon ride, you'll be stuck in a loop forever. The second is the pixie girl. She's irritating. I tried to set the game so that she doesn't come up, but she's still there. To the creators, if you do decide to bless us with a 3rd game, please do away with the pixie girl.

I have looked at the product description of this game and of the expansion pack offered through Amazon. I've determined they are the same. I am adding my review here, also, because I think Wisdom Quest is great. I want others to be able to share its benefits, regardless of who the seller is.
