Grade 2-4?Basic facts, large print, and easy-to-read texts make these titles appealing. Double-page spreads are devoted to such topics as food, homes, bodies, defense, and the animals' interactions with people. Full-color naturalistic drawings are detailed and appropriately placed. Cutaway diagrams illustrate special anatomical features. In addition, an interesting trivia box appears in the upper right-hand corner of each spread. The material is well organized and generally accurate, with the exception of an inaccurate statement in Wild Dogs. A picture caption reads: "African hunting dog (or hyena)." Hyenas fall into a different family, Hyaenidae, which are more closely related to cats than to dogs. The book I received is just as expected, however, the transaction was not what I would call good customer service. The shipping cost was 3 times the price of the book, and I was not aware of this until after pressing the button, as I had ordered a few items from different vendors.
So, I emailed to ask for a cancellation, and was told it had already gone through and couldn't be stopped....right after ordering!! Then it took over a month to arrive, which is odd, since it had gone through so quickly, apparently. I am not sure where the shipping cost comes from, as a small paperback book cannot possibly cost that much to ship! And it cannot take that long to arrive, if it was indeed processed as quickly as I was told......not a happy customer. I paid $20 for a $5 book.....
