3.0 out of 5 stars Good hero, iffy book., June 17, 2001
This review is from: Wild Embrace (Onyx) (Paperback)
Elizabeth Easton was a girl who wasn't denied anything, except the pleasure of staying in San Francisco. Her father, a wealthy business man, decides he wants to try his hand at a fishery and packs up Elizabeth, with their servants and maids, and hordes them off to Seattle to live in a big brooding mansion. Elizabeth doesn't complain much but she does miss the love of her father who is never around and is doted on by the lovable Frannie who took over her mother's place, when she abandoned Elizabeth several years ago. She's a fiery girl, with curiosity to boot, and thinks that she can find nothing in Seattle interesting until she happens upon Strong Heart.

On a mission to save a life long friend from being hung, Strong Heart sets off on a journey from his people and travels to Seattle to free his friend from prison, who he's sure didn't commit the crimes he's accused of. Along the way he hopes to find his Grandfather who's disappeared from the face of the earth a few years back. He doesn't find him but stumbles upon Elizabeth.

Brought together, three times, due to rescues provided by Strong Heart, the couple falls in love upon first sight. They have many trials, tribulations, and a few great surprises, as in any other romance novel and while I was a little iffy about the book, I did like Strong Heart. I found he was a noble, tender hero, and his name fit him perfectly. I was losing quick interest towards the end where it seemed to drag on but it was a nice romance. However I feel it was out of place. This is part three of the "Wild Series." Part 1 & 2 (Wild Ecstasy & Wild Rapture) are books connected. Wild Ecstasy starts it off and then Wild Rapture is the sequel. I don't see where this fits in and all and its a bit confusing. This book however is a somewhat good read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, March 14, 2006

I am halfway through the book, and I really don't think I can finish it. It is very poorly written. I love a good Indian romance, but this book does not develop any of the characters, or show any true feelings, or even keep your attention. I don't think I can bear to finish reading it, I am bored to tears.

1.0 out of 5 stars BORING, I'm warning you., September 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wild Embrace (Onyx) (Paperback)
This is the first book I ever read by Cassie Edwards. I hated it. I like books about love at first sight but Wild Embrace took the cake. There was NO conflict in this book. If you are going to write about love at first sight, then please write about conflict too. It's really boring when you realize that the characters are in love in the beginning, and they have a wonderful loving relationship throughout the book. You already know they are going to live happily ever after, so at least throw in some conflict. This book was just plain boring. I'm still wondering why Strong Heart kidnaps Elizabeth. Why did her mom become a madam and leave her husband and child. I just didn't get this boring book, and you know what? I really don't care to re-read it to find out. Also, Cassie Edwards repeatedly wrote the title of the book over and over, and that got on my last nerves. "Strong Heart held Beth with a wild embrace." "Beth and Strong Heart held each other in a wild embrace." "Their love is like a wild embrace." How sappy is that? I'm not exaggerating; those could possibly be some sentences from this book. Get this book at your own risk, consider yourself warned lol.
