A Visual Feast!,
By Mike Krebill (Ann Arbor, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wild Food Gourmet: Fresh and savory food from nature (Paperback)
Consider this visual treat a must-own for serious hobbyists and would-be authors. Anne Gardon's superlative photography of edible wild plants and the gourmet dishes and drinks she has created, along with her excellent text, and a eye-pleasing design by Gillian Tsintziras, make this Firefly book a delight to behold. Here's an excellent gift for a friend who shares your love of foraging. I'll bet that once you see it, however, you'll want your own copy. If I owned a coffee table, it would be THE edible wild plant book that I would put out for company to look at. Anne is the author, Sarah Weber the editor.

Beautiful as a companion book,
By Garlic Girl (Lyle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wild Food Gourmet: Fresh and savory food from nature (Paperback)
This is a beautifully photographed book with lovely recipes to be used as a companion book when learning the particulars of foraging wild food. Don't let the title word "Gourmet" put you off as they are recipes most home cooks will find easy to make but the flavors will make you think gourmet.

Recipes are Heavily MEAT-based,
By all love based paths lead to God "loveisthekey" (Planet Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wild Food Gourmet: Fresh and Savory Food from Nature (Paperback)
Beautiful photos. Recipes look great if you eat animals and sugar. NOT based on healthful principles. Also, not much selection of wild foods. There are other books out there on wild foods that are much better. Vegetarians: Don't waste your time. I thought maybe I could substitute ingredients, but the recipes are just too heavily meat-based to make it worthwhile.
