A WILD GOOSE CHASE CHRISTMAS by Jennifer Allee is an interesting contemporary romance with a Christmas theme. Book 2 in the "Quilts of Love" series, but can be read as a stand alone. See," Beyond the Storm". A powerful story of love, adventure,a hint of suspense,a secret,a hint of mystery,a dog,a treasure, romance, faith, quilt, healing and a bit of Christmas magic. Follow Izzy Fontaine on her journey to a great treasure. What is the greatest treasure of all I ask you: love? A heart warming story from start to finish. "Quilts of Love" is a beautiful series so far and one I would highly recommend. I can hardly wait for the next installment to this amazing series. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Quilt, A Mystery, An Adventure and Romance November 12, 2012
By VicG
Format:Paperback
Jennifer AlLee in her new book, "A Wild Goose Chase Christmas" Book Two in the Quilts of Love series published by Abingdon Press takes us into the life of Izzy Fontaine.

From the back cover: A quilt, A secret message, a dog, and a possible treasure make for an unforgettable Christmas!

Upon her grandmother's death, Izzy Fontaine finds herself in possession of a Wild Goose Chase pattern quilt that supposedly leads to a great treasure.

Of course, once the rest of the family finds out about the "treasure map," they're determined to have a go at the treasure themselves. And, if that weren't enough, Max Logan, a local museum curator, contacts Izzy and says that Grandma Isabella promised him the quilt.

What is it about this quilt that makes everyone want it? Is Izzy on a wild goose chase of her own, or a journey that will lead her to the treasure her grandmother intended?

This book is what they used to call a romp or a real good time. If you have ever seen the movie with Spencer Tracy, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" then you have some idea of how much fun this story really is. Izzy doesn't even time to mourn the death of her grandmother for as soon as she dies all the excitement begins. Virgil arrives with the quilt and a story that sounds like a conspiracy theory. Then all of sudden this theory may prove out to be true. On top of this being a mystery of sorts "A Wild Goose Chase Christmas" is a very sweet romance. Ms. AlLee makes you care for all the characters and their chase. If you want to have a real good time trying to figure out everything that is going on while enjoying yourself simultaneously then "A Wild Goose Chase Christmas" is the perfect book to read. And just in time for Christmas, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's All About Love December 6, 2012
By Grapes
Format:Kindle Edition
KINDLE Net Galley Abington Press

I enjoyed this Christmas novel by Jennifer Allee so much. A Wild Goose Goose Chase Christmas is about family love. However, it is an honest novel. Just because we're family doesn't mean there aren't any disagreements and misunderstandings. I think family is like friendship. The only difference is with family you live together, grow up together knowing each others most secret flaws and of course, it's impossible to pick family like you would pick a friend. Izzy's family is going through many difficulties during the happiest time of year. Yes, I have to accept it. Difficulties occur at Cristmas time too. The women in Izzy's family haven't always gotten along together. It beginning to look like a recurring pattern of frustrated feelings between mothers and daughters. Izzy's mother, Janice, didn't have a good relationship with her mother. As a matter of fact, Janice, after her mother's death, is still dealing with negative feelings about her mother. Now there is Izzy, and she doesn't get along with her mother, Janice. Then, there is Izzy's relationship with her brother, Brandon. It's explosive at best. It's Christmas time, and here are a houseful of people who don't really like one another at all. However, God is Love so He knows how to deal with ugly relationships

This is Christian fiction. We never see the grandmother. She has died, but she leaves behind gifts, tokens, treasures, which will heal all of these relationships. Also, she will strike up a romance that Izzy doesn't expect with a man named Max. The Wild Goose Chase quilt is a wonderful prop. It will help to bring these people together and make them love each other again. I especially enjoyed reading about the different scrap fabric memories in the quilt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific story for Christmas! December 11, 2013
Format:Paperback
A Wild Goose Chase Christmas by Jennifer AlLee has been a joy to read... it is exactly what is needed if you are seeking a sweet, encouraging Christmas story.

I cannot say enough about this book! I loved it! I seriously could not put it down... I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it. And it was totally worth it!

Izzy is one of those characters you can identify with... you "want" to identify with, because she's just so caring and generous. Her mom and brother - well, they tend to grate on the nerves at first, but as the story goes along, even through the problems Izzy's family begins to grow on you.

Of course, I rooted for Max and Izzy to fall in love. It doesn't go exactly as planned, but the ending is more than satisfying, nonetheless.

This is definitely one of the books on my "keeper" shelf. As I collect more of the Quilts of Love series, I can see myself reading A Wild Goose Chase Christmas again and again... if the others are as good as this one, I will enjoy re-reading them every year.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Abingdon Press, but we had already bought a copy (guess we need to bless someone else with one). We love it that much!
