I am a Web designer by trade and I found this book to be an excellent resource. Buttons, backgrounds, icons--you name it and there are step-by-step instructions. This book is filled to overflowing with useful (and cool!) Image Composer tips and tricks.

Mr. Karlin's publication should be the example for the type of reference that web site developers of all skill levels crave. He was direct in his explanations, specific with his demonstrations, and used a friendly tone throughout the book. I had been using Paint Shop Pro for some time, and found that MIC was even easier! No credit Microsoft, I swear by MIC, and will support every written effort put forth by this author...you should too

As a beginner in this new art of home pages, I was alwayspuzzeled bythe fact that some pages could exhibit most any conceivable thing while mine was limited to very few resources. Thanks David, for your Wild Web Graphics With Microsoft Image Composer, which makes all the differnce with respect to good taste, clearness and objectivity

I'm glad I picked this book from the many other web graphics books available. It has certainly helped me make the most of MIC. Working through the text and creating the same effects on screen was great fun, thanks to Dave K's clear explanations and many examples of the wide variety of tools and effects available. I learned much about MIC in particular and graphics tools in general, and now I know when to use MIC and when other graphics tools can actually do a particular job better. I was also impressed with Dave's quick and personal response to a "help" request I e-mailed him. Thanks, Dave

I hate to be the contrarian, but I bought this book hoping to get some real insight into the product. I was a bit dissapointed. The examples in the book are not at all "wild". In fact, they seemed rather basic & simple. The web has advanced at a rapid pace & rainbow gradient graphics are as dated as stick figure "under construction" gifs. The book was a good primer for understanding the tool, but offered no real insight into advanced use & tricks. I went through it one time & learned all about the toolbars. I haven't touched it since.

I am very impressed with this book. I am an avid learner from books. This is a very comprehensive and understandable book. This author doesn't leave anything out. The graphics and text are beautifully done. I have recommended this book to everyone I know that has Frontpage 97 or 98. I just hope he does another for Frontpage 98 Image Composer. I really love this book. Thanks David the public needed this.

I am a computer teacher and find it is often difficult to find manuals which are easy to follow and also colorful with lots of examples. This book has it all. I was impressed. I highly recommend it both for the home user and classroom.

I actually sat down with this book the evening I bought it, and read it cover to cover. David Karlins has a wonderful writing style. The next day I was creating wonderful graphics with really professional results. Since then, I have used this book as a reference tool, and it never lets me down! A must-have for really understanding Image Composer!
