I have always loved this song. I first heard it in the movie "Fear" with Reese Witherspoon. Ever since then, I've always looked forward to the rollercoaster scene because of this song.

It's brutal when a band doesn't pull off a cover and a travesty when a beautiful rendition doesn't get it's due justice. Harriet Wheeler's voice fits nicely with this Rolling Stones classic.As a side note Mazzy Star is often credited for this version of Wild Horses.

The Sundays did a beautiful job on this song. The only negative comment I have is that the way the recording was "produced" or "mixed" (I'm not sure which term is correct) the lyrics of the song are virtually inaudible. I think the vocals could have been made more prominent so you could at least hear the words. It's still a beautiful version of the song.

I really have enjoyed this cover of "Wild Horses" by The Sundays since I first heard it on the prom episode of the TV show "Buffy The Vampire Slayer".It also appears on the first soundtrack album from "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Album (1999 Television Series). Harriet Wheeler does a great job on the vocal. |
