4.0 out of 5 stars Insatiable and fanciful erotica!
At first, I thought Wild Kingdom was a historical/erotic novel. However, the story and setting are fanciful, taken from Ms. Deanna Ashford's incredible imagination. This novel's enthralling story and smoldering erotic scenes are bold, profound and entertaining. Prince Tarn thought he'd escaped death at war against the Percheron army. That is until he discovers that his...

3.0 out of 5 stars I like complicated .... but ....
the book I think goes too far .... Written in as a fantasy in mythical warring lands a very complex, well for me at least, story ensues when the heroine, Rianna, is taken prisoner and being transported all over the place between these different warring groups ...

4.0 out of 5 stars Insatiable and fanciful erotica!, January 14, 2004
At first, I thought Wild Kingdom was a historical/erotic novel. However, the story and setting are fanciful, taken from Ms. Deanna Ashford's incredible imagination. This novel's enthralling story and smoldering erotic scenes are bold, profound and entertaining. Prince Tarn thought he'd escaped death at war against the Percheron army. That is until he discovers that his beloved Rianna has been kidnapped by the unscrupulous Baroness Niska Crissana. Niska intends to present Rianna as a gift to Ragnor -- the baroness's warrior brother. Tarn is out to rescue Rianna at all cost, even if he has to seek Sarin's help. Sarin is not only the ruler of Percheron, he is also the most sexually perverted man Tarn's ever encountered...

The great thing about this novel is that the erotic scenes don't intervene with the story. The sex scenes are beautifully told. The table ceremony at Ragnor's kingdom is one of the most insatiable scenes ever written. The story is like Conan the Barbarian, only with delicious sex scenes. Wild Kingdom is a great novel and another winner from Black Lace. Deanna Ashford is a great storyteller. I recommend this to all erotica and Black Lace enthusiasts.

the book I think goes too far .... Written in as a fantasy in mythical warring lands a very complex, well for me at least, story ensues when the heroine, Rianna, is taken prisoner and being transported all over the place between these different warring groups ...

The story very much sounds like a historical account of the days of King Arthur where we have three groups battling each other, the blonde Vikings from the North, the Romans wanting to leave England, and finally the English themselves that were trying, at the time, to defend their fledgling couintry and culture.... I think though that the author looses her way in the book and even the erotica and the hot sex cant even save it

4.0 out of 5 stars Two things worth mentioning, February 17, 2007

1 - The book description given above is wrong - it was written about a different book by the same publisher. This book takes place in a fantasy setting - kings, princesses, warriors, outlaws, etc. (ETA: This refers to the original publisher's description, which has since been changed.)

2 - This book is a sequel to the novel "Savage Surrender" by the same author.

Not as hot as I expected. You are better off with a book from Aran Ashe or Jaid Black.
