Works great! Yes you can hear it underwater; throughout the entire pool. Those people above who said they couldn't hear it underwater must have been doing something wrong. We love it.
It works, as advertised.

I really liked this toy! The radio can play your favorite FM stations (although it isn't the clearest.) and along with it, cool sounds! I like the dolphin the best: I love the noise! It sounds real! This is great if you have a pool.

OK, so the sound quality is not so great. And so you probably won't be able make out the lyrics underwater unless no one else is in the pool and you are being very still. It's still a pretty cool toy.

Above water you get tinny music and cool sound effects. Below water you get garbled music and cool sound effects.

The kids thought it was cool to get a radio wet without getting in trouble.
