This review is from: Wild Planet 1 - 2 - 3 Stomp (Toy)
This is such a great concept - a fun way for kids to start learning math! The execution, however, not so great. To play, a child "stomps" on the big button in the middle, thus sending the 10 colorful numbers scattering all over the floor. The toy then asks for certain numbers, and if you get the right answer for all 10 numbers, it makes the next session harder. The first session just asks for numbers, ie find the 10. The second session says "find the number between 3 and 5" or "find a green number". All of this is fantastic. My son was incredibly excited to try this out (he just turned three and is heading into preschool in the summer). He made it through the first round just fine, but in the second round the music really picked up the pace and it repeated the commands over and over again a few seconds apart, creating a sense of urgency to complete it quickly. The problem is that the numbers are made out of cheap plastic, as is the main body of the toy and the connectors that hold the numbers in place. When my son went to put the numbers in quickly, they fell right back out and he couldn't advance to the next command. The way the numbers are made, you have to kind of "hook" them into place by lifting the number up and then sliding it downward. He was so frustrated by the numbers not sticking and the tempo getting faster and faster that after four rounds he said it was no longer fun. I can't blame him! I was getting frustrated myself, and I'm an adult. The little tabs that push the numbers out during the "stomp" also look pretty cheap, and ours has bits of the plastic that are already flaking off.
So, wonderful concept, but I wish the designers had spent a little more time and money creating a more durable, less frustrating toy.

I bought this for my 4 year old and twin 6 year olds. They love playing together and you can set it to play at harder levels. The younger one catches on quickly by seeing her sisters play at the higher level. She also plays it by herself. The voice is clear and you can understand what letter/color they are calling out.

Fine and Gross Motor Skills and Learning Fun,

Our son received this game for Christmas. From the first round, we were hooked. I love all of the educational learning with colors, numbers, addition and subtraction. Another great plus is the fine motor skill of putting the numbers into place along with the gross motor skill of stomping and running to get the numbers. The harder you stomp, the further the numbers fly!
Also great is how the game encourages listening skills as you must listen to what number/color comes next. This is a game that is recommended on the "ABC Jesus Loves Me" free preschool curriculum website - [...] because of the numerous skills involved. The only reason that I didn't give this game 5 Stars is that there is not an on/off switch (at least I can't find one.) Also, if you accidently hit a button, the game starts over at the first level. Otherwise, we are really enjoying this game!
