5.0 out of 5 stars This toy is the ultimate spy gadget
I love this toy! It is one of the best spy gadgets I have seen! I got this toy a long time ago and i still love it. This toy is really fun because you can hide the motion sensors throughout your house and when someone walks by it alerts you! However, this is not a very educational toy, but fun! It takes a lot of batteries. So if you don't have a lot of batteries at home I...

3.0 out of 5 stars The drawing board
The motion sensor part of this item is great but on the commercial they described being able to draw a map of your house and mark where the motion sensors are. I can not figure out how to do this. Other than the drawing part it is great for big brothers/sisters who want to protect their stuff. Also the receiver is portable so you can take it any where. You can also...

My son loves this product. He and his friend get out the "Spy Box" full of Wild Planet toys and play for hours. It really works! Just hope that the kids remember where they hid the sensors. One child hid one and then had to go home- days later he forgot where it was hidden. We walked the whole house several times trying to hit the light beam! I finally found it when I almost watered it along with my plant!

It doesnt really mean 75feet. it means you can place the sensors 75feet away from the station. It tracks about 20 feet and has 3 detectors.

Wild Planet has their hits and misses. However, I am classifying this toy in the 'hits' category. If you were a kid sneaking downstairs to secretly get a midnight snack, wouldn't you want to know when someone is coming downstairs to see what's going on? The Spy Tracker System consists [mainly] of three sensors, and a "cool headquarters" which I refer to as a base unit. The base unit simply tells you when a sensor is triggered (activated). Here's some advice to make this toy as enjoyable as possible.

The Spy Tracker System [in a more detailed look] consists of three sensors, three antenna tubes, one base unit, and one dry erase marker. After turning the base unit on, you simply take one of the three sensors and turn the bendable antenna (located on the back of the sensor) into a position. It comes with antenna tubes that help straighten the antenna for a better response, however I find that I can simply bend the antenna any-which-way and it still works, as long as the top of the antenna is pointing in the directon of the base unit. For the best performance, make sure you don't have the sensor in a completely dark area. Do these same steps for the other two sensors. Then, you should have all three sensors up and running, and the base unit ready. If you want, you can draw a map of where the sensors are located on the base unit screen with the included dry erase marker. Then, wait for someone to trigger a sensor! The base unit will say "Sensor One" if sensor one is triggered, or "Sensor Two" and "Sensor Three." You can also put it on a silent mode, where lights will flash if a sensor is triggered instead of an audio message. Follow these instructions, and guarantee hours of fun! And, you can store all the sensors, antenna tubes, and dry erase marker right in the designated slots in the base unit (its big enough to hold all of the equipment, yet the actual size of it is smaller than you think)! Then the base unit can fold, close, and latch shut, for when you're on the move!

If you like Spy Gear, the Spy Tracker System is a must. Other reviews may think poorly of it, but if you follow my advice, you'll love it and so will your child! My only negative comment is that it uses a lot of batteries; two AAA for each sensors and three AA for the base unit.

I gotta say I am VERY PLEASED: Santa brought this for my 8 year old son for Christmas and it does look like fun, BUT it didn't work right out of the box. I could only get about a 2 foot range on it -- that's not too fun. First I checked the Wild Planet website list of troubleshooting tips, then I tried them all (fresh batteries, plenty of light, antennae straight up, etc.) Then I emailed Wild Planet, told them the problem and within an hour or two I got an email back saying they will send me out a new one! How's THAT for excellent customer service?! I am now SOLD on Wild Planet toys -- they are one of the few companies that will unconditionally stand behind their products and do what it takes to make their customers happy (just as it says on their website)

Two weeks later, a brand new Spy Tracker came in the mail and it works perfectly -- my son was very excited when it worked as promised as soon as we put batteries in. I didn't find that it needed bright light like some of the reviewers said, but it does need some light to work. He is having a lot of fun with this and is using his imagination so that's good enough for me. THANKS WILD PLANET!

5.0 out of 5 stars Has lots of creative uses, December 12, 2004

My son who is 10 now has had his for over a year now and it is still in great condition. Its seems to have great coverage. He places one station in a corner of our stairs then he can tell when I am coming down stairs to tuck them in for the night. He always has one posted at his bedroom doorway so he can tell if someone is trying to get in his room when he is upstairs. When he is home alone when I run quick errands he sets them up at all entryways and feels secure while he plays, and can tell when I get in since he knows what door I will be coming in after my errands. He loves it and is asking for more spy items for his collection. Has been well worth the money. But he is creative and comes up with some pretty amazing ways to use his toys.

We bought this for a Christmas present for our son, and so far so good. What is really neat is the way you can make a map of a room and a diagram on the tracker screen. And it is fun to set it on the audible signal where a voice tells you which sensor has been tripped. A reset button allows a reset on the case without resetting each sensor manually. In our house it reads the signals through the walls just fine. We don't mind the antenna on the sensors because it's for kids and we would know it is there without the antenna. If you hide it alongside a couch or houseplant or what-have-you, it is harder to see it but it still works great. By the way, the sensors on this work much better than the sensors on this company's other motion sensors that come with one of their spy packages that includes a pen, binoculars, and other gadgets. That one is too sensitive. This one is a load of fun so far.

This is the first and only spy gear i (13).I got this for X-mas and when i opened it i started testing it! THIS IS GREAT!!! Its not like the fake Truth detector! (my brother has). The motion sensors really work!!! i got the 3 all around the house and my "Command Center" in my room and i always know when someone sits on couch watching TV, walking in the hall or near the stairs! the only bad thing is that the marker is pretty fake. if you wanna write on the "thingy" u gotta use a CD marker. one more thing. it really works to 50-60 feet through walls!!! OVERALL THIS TOY IS GREAT! ITS A MUST HAVE!!!! WORTH YOUR MONEY!

This is So Sweet! No education, but load of fun! A couple times it doesn't send good alert signals, but anyways: you can cheat with hide & seek! You can take your friend downstairs and take it with you monitoring your room and the way leading downstairs! Even stick one in the garage if wanted!! Make sure to occasionally check the batteries!

My 9 year old son purchased this with his own money more than a year ago. This toy comes out everytime he has a sleepover. He and his friends use it to track his sister and her friends around the house. I've even seen one of the units sitting outside our bedroom door! There are 3 units that can be placed at different locations. The main unit has a flat screen that your spy can map out an area with a marker and erase it later. If motion is dectected in front of one of the smaller units, a light will appear on the screen of the main unit. The main unit also doubles as a storage unit for the three smaller units. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this toy.
