Cool spy Gear, August 24, 2005
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wild Planet Spy Gear® XP-6 Spy Watch (Toy)
It has a pop-up micro telescope; LED light beam; Motion detector that even time stamp the exact moment of intrusion; magnifying lens, world time watch with alrm and calendar; and two secret "dead drop capsules" that are strapped to the wrist band for leaving a secret message in. The motion detector works really well, and can be used in your backpack, bike, a door, locker, whatever. The battery is included, made to fit any size wrist.
Some reviewers got theirs next to the microwave or in water, not a good thing for any watch or toy. It is not waterproof so be careful with it, I also feel it for kids age 8 and up. It has an educational element as you can use it to learn about hte different time zone around the world. The boys love this spy toy. It is a very affordable toy, and provides hours of distraction.

This watch is sooooooo cool!! Although it's not waterproof, I still love it. It helps me see further away, and it even gives my room increased security!!! But there's one thing you have to be careful with: today i lost one half of the safe-drop capsules. thank god that one of my friends found it in my classroom's Lost & Found. That was a close call. and i just love the world time!

Super cool watch!, November 13, 2005

This is the coolest watch and spy toy! The telescope is great for spying on people. Especially when you're bored out of your mind waiting for your mom at the store - you can turn a dull moment into a spy moment! The great part is so far mom hasn't caught on that it's a spy watch! As for parents who don't like the watch, I'd suggest paying attention to the age range, and if you have a kid who's a bit destructive or not quite responsible enough to own a watch yet - don't get him one. It's obviously not designed to be a kids first watch because there's pieces that can break off and the capsuls can be lost. Just a thought.

I enjoyed the XP-6 Watch, and the motion activated system is tight! Of course it's not made for education but it is made for FUN!!! Except there were only a couple flaws: every time I wash my hands with it, it malfunctions and needs to dry out (I sorta forget sometimes). You also don't want it in your backpack because it'll probably lose a button (happened to me) and I sorta bump a certain button sometimes which changes the World Time (I'd rather have to hold a set button first). But I still LOVE it! You can hide it somewhere and whenever someone tries to take your stuff: ERERERERERERRERERE!!!! The motion activated system even records when the beep was activated! I love it! So overall, I think it's pretty radical.

What a pain in the keister!, January 1, 2005
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Wild Planet Spy Gear® XP-6 Spy Watch (Toy)
My six-year-old son received this watch for Christmas. Although he thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread, by the end of the day he had lost one-half of one of the "safe-drop capsules" (it fell apart and half of it disappeared), he had the time stuck on Rio de Janiero (it took the adults in the house ten minutes to unstick it) and he managed to reset the time and date accidentally four separate times! By the fourth "Mommy, my watch isn't telling the right time" comment, I was ready to toss the thing out the window.
We told my son not to start pushing the different buttons arbitrarily because he would cause the time/date to change. All he wanted to do was to use the different functions of the watch. Yet, each time, the time or date would be altered.
There's a reason why most watches now have those tiny recessed "set" buttons that you need a pen point to access. So your six-year-old doesn't keep changing the time!!!!
This watch is exciting to the kids, but a MAJOR pain to the adults who have to keep resetting it. Whatever you do, don't lose the instructions to this one -- you'll need them!
