4.0 out of 5 stars Great for spying!
The spy pen lets me write at night when all the lights are off and I'm supposed to be asleep. The motion sensor works well. It signals very well. The magnifier is a little tricky because it's fuzzy if you try to zoom too closely. I like this so much I gave one to my friend for his birthday.

Quantum of Solace may have been Q-less, but now your budding secret agent can go one up on 007 with this nifty little espionage kit that's small enough for easy concealment in the inner pocket of your tuxedo.

Before I go further I should add that this really doesn't cost seventy six bucks, as listed. I'm guessing that the seller is out of stock, and listing a high price so you won't order it, and so they won't have to disappoint you.

Everything fits into a small black case, which has a secret pen compartment - but this is no ordinary pen! Yes, the pen works, but it converts into a flashlight, with a light tube attachment to "bend" the light so you can make notes in the dark. Snapping on a pair of lenses turns it into a telescope, or you can use one of them as a magnifying glass. The storage case locks and opens via a "lock socket" and the rear pen cap. Best of all, it has a motion sensor, which gives off a fairly loud alarm when someone breaks the invisible beam. Place it next to a door, across a hallway or by a window, and you'll know if anyone is infiltrating your space.

Limitations:

The light tube gives off a red light, which is hard to read by.

The scope is difficult to focus, even with the focus knob, and again, it'll have you seeing red.

It's all inexpensive plastic, and doesn't feel very sturdy. (Although nothing's broken thus far)

When purchased at the right price, this can be a fun toy for little spies aged six & up, with a bit of adult help in setting up. Uses two AA batteries (not included)

My DS ordered this with his own money after christmas to add to his growing stash of "spy gear". He and his friends have played with it a ton and he his friends plan on ordering their own!!!

We only rated it a one star because it's obviously not a math, matching, grammar type of game. They are very creative in their spy games, but we weren't sure that is Amazon was meaning when they wanted you to rate "educational".

My son likes this kit, because he fancies himself a secret agent (he's 5). That's why Santa brought it for Christmas in the first place. However, there really isn't that much to it. He carries it around, because Santa knew he was a secret agent, but there isn't much else for him to do with it.
