Just have to add my 2 cents here that just about all Spy Gear gets great reviews from kids! They LOVE it! Mine are 2 little girls, and they have gone crazy over theirs in the past. This is something they don't want to share, so do your best (and fork it over) to get each kid his/her own! It will save you a few headaches, trust me! We had these pens in the past. Even if they don't use the little paper strips, they still will use this very cool pen, and enjoy the flashlight. This stuff makes kids feel important. One of mine is so mechanically inclined, and she knew how to flip this, undo that, in about 2 seconds. (Even while I was still saying, No, there's no flashlight here, don't turn that...yes, as my daughter knew, it is a flashlight of course.) I'm thinking about getting more such gear...it's been a couple of years, and their interest is renewed. The gear helps set the scene, and the kids then use imaginations and creativity.

P.S. I keep calling it a flashlight, but I think it is a small light to read the invisible writing. Not good as a flashlight.

This Christmas gift was given to my Neice(7) at a family gathering. She opened it and tossed it aside, only to come back to it at the end. She wrote notes the rest of the day on the backs of Christmas cards, and had a blast. I saw her last night, and she was excited to tell me that she had given one to her friend so that they could trade notes. You can pretty well forget about the secret paper/note inside. It could be ued once, or twice. No one would want to cut pieces of paper the size of ribbon to replace the used paper. The compartment is to compact to forgive improperly cut sizes. I whole heartedly recommend this item, based on size, value, portability, and Joy to a young girls Christmas.

I'm a thirty-something adult that purchased this item just for a little personal fun and found it to work exactly as described. I was able to complete my art project easily with plenty of "ink" to spare. The fact that it contained *two* pens worked quite well for me, as I was able to use one pen to shine the blacklight while simultaneously drawing with the second pen. True, the package is a little pricey, but I am overall very pleased.

The spy pen was a good toy for the money. The pens come in a set of two enabling two children to play. My children enjoy writing and revealing the "secret messages".

My son Loves this set! If your little one loves to play spy they will love this pen set :)

My son is 6 and has had a lot of fun writing secret messages with friends and then seeing them in the dark with the pen. They do not use the paper hidden within the pen, but enjoy it none the less.

This was a gift for my daughter and nephew. My daughter loves to write secret messages on the paper. The light is small, but it is a fun toy!

A gift for my 13 year old cousin. He liked them, and it was a fun stocking stuffer. He thought they were pretty fun. The writing isn't as bright as I expected it to be when you shine the black light on it.
