I bought this item for my nephew for Christmas and it was great! The fact that everthing is in a handy kit helps keep things neat and orderly. Also, the listing device really works great! My nephews father, my brother, has a profound hearing loss, but was even able to hear with it! The pen light worked fine but I didn't particularly find the telescope/microscope very good...maybe I didn't use it right. However, I did really like the fact that the pen light and telescope easily click onto the listening device.

Overall, I think this is a good toy, especially for the child who has so many other toys...this is unique and fun.

When I first got this toy I was worried that the listening devise would not work but it works absouletlty fine. It has A great light and A really great Telescop/microscope. It also has A Really good case.

My son loves this toy! My husband and I thought that for what you get, its a bit pricey, but my in-laws bought it for our son this Christmas. It's pretty neat. The listening device works well. The microscope doubles as a telescope (you just look in the opposite end for each tool.) The whole thing snaps together into one cool looking spy instrument.

the microscope/telescope worked great. The penlight was very bright, but ate up batteries pretty fast. the notepad was small enough to easily fit in your pocket if needed. And my favorite item...the listening device. It worked GREAT. I'm surprised at how well it worked. It ampified sounds from a long distance. It took only two 9 volt batteries in it's busy two year life. The only reason it finally died was because my 4 year old neighbor cut the wire.
The case is made of hard, durable plastic and once you locked it, it STAYED locked, it didn't pop open like a lot of plasic cases would.
The whole kit was durable, it survived years of being thrown around, rolling around on concrete, and being stepped on.
My only complaint is that the case and notepad had "WILDPLANET SPY KIT," and "SPY NOTEBOOK" written on the fronts in big, obvious letters, to show the whole world what you were up to.
If you buy this, you might want to cover up the letters, or put it into another, less obvious case :)

when i bought this thing i thought it would be crappy and delicate......well i thought really wrong. i had it for 2 years and itz been banged aroung alot and it still works greeat!!! even if som1 is around 50 ft away and they are wispering: u can still hear them perfect!!!

I got the spy tool kit for christmas it is very fun the set has a two in one telescope-microscope. with the telescope you can see anything far away ,and with the micoscope you can see,small things like bugs,mini print,and coins in great detail. with the listnning device,you can hear far away sounds but it works better with SONY head phones you can easily plug them in ,the set also has a note book in it so you can right what you hear,and see,the spy too kit has flashlight in it,it is very compact and it works. the telescope and flashlight can clip on to make it realy cool. I have the spy cam,spy vision goggles,secret note pad,message rocket,and spy tool kit they all work well.it will make you a great spy PS. I am Bond,JAMES BOND

I got this spy toolkit for my birthday and it is great! You can really listen through walls and stuff. My little brother didn't even break it either.

This is another fun toy from Wild Planet's popular Spy Gear line of toys, a complete spy kit every kid in the neighborhood will like. Winner of an award from "Child" magazine. For starters it arrives in a very nice little briefcase that has slot for each of it's devices so they don't rattle when you run. The case says "Spy Kit' on the outside. The down side of that is you can't really add in your other Spy Gear gadgets to the case, which any kid would want to do. It has a number of gadgets any good spy needs, but best of all they designed the individual devices so that they can be put together in combinations to make many other gadgets to make the right tool tailored for each secret mission.

The 4 basic gadgets included in the case are the Combo Telescope/Microscope, Penlight, Spy Notebook, and the Electronic Listening Device. Here is what they do... First is the combo telescope/microscope used for peering at fingerprints or miniature messages, or for scouting the enemy base. It has a penlight for snooping in secret files (batteries are not included). Next is an essential Spy Notebook for jotting down secret data overheard, writing plans, or sending messages in secret codes. The most fun gadget in the kit is the "Electronic Listening Device" (needs a 9 volt battery that is not included) that amplifies distant sounds and voices so you can listen in on the enemy spies. It is really simple to use, you unfold the boom microphone and point it in the direction you want to hear from.

It comes with handy earphones so they don't hear you too. You can also combine it with a clip to the penlight for a new gadget with expanded capability. All in all a fun set, and the exploring the kids do trying to come up with new gadget combinations is really fun. Good deal for the price. this toy is great and very fun it needs batteries and it eats them up quickly but otherwise it is a great toy

i got this toy for my ... birthday and i love it .you can hear things from the other side of the street and probaly more.you can also see things from a far away distance.I love it!
