AWESOME,

GREAT GAME. My son (11) and I have a blast with it. It actually works like it does on TV. It's a lot of fun. There may be some minor adjustments in the beginning to get the "air flow" just right but the manufacturers did a good deal by making this a "plug in" deal rather than batteries because the air flow remains constant. Occasionally the battle balls will fly out too soon and you have to throw them back in for a good fight. It's really not a big deal.
This is a game that a child or (Mom <grin>) can play with a partner or by themselves and have a great time. We've even gone out and gotten some more "Battle Balls" not because we NEED them but because we wanted more battles and weapons. Just keep away from playful kitties.

Air flow critical,
This review is from: Wild Planet Verticon Air Battle Arena (Toy)
One of the hazards of Christmas is that during the absolute pandemonium that accompanies multiple children opening multiple presents in minimal amounts of time is that directions get lost. In this case I could find nothing regarding the importance of removing two of the three bottom baffle plates that otherwise decrease air flow to the point where the 'warriors' could barely bestir themselves from the bottom of the 'stadium.' Once this corrected the unit seemed to function reasonably well and my kids (ages 4 and 7) really seemed to enjoy it although victories are sometimes hard to distinguish from the randomness of the air flow.

I have to say, this has definitely been fascinating. My husband missed the part in the instructions about the throttle, so at first nobody was enthused with this, but once we realized how to really operate the unit with the throttle, WOW! all 3 of my boys (husband included) have had fun watching the "battles" in mid-air and guessing who would "win".

Verticon is Great Fun,
This review is from: Wild Planet Verticon Air Battle Arena (Toy)
My son who is 10 got Verticon for Christmas and has played with it non-stop for hours. The whole family played with it pitting strategies against one another until 2:00 am in the morning one day. It was very exciting and lots of fun. I would recommend it, definitely for my son's age range, even though everyone in the family enjoyed it.

We actually bought this game for my nephew and my 10 year old saw it and decided to spend some chistmas money on getting one. It is really fun and all the family enjoys it. We actually lucked out and Toys R Us had a big set with the sound attachment for 15 dollars. I like the sound attachment and suggest getting it as well. Must remember to adjust the wind throttle.

I bought this for my 8 year old son for Christmas and he really loves it. We've played it as a family (with my husband and 6 year old son). It's durable and it's great that it plugs in (no need to burn through batteries). We each choose a colored ball as our warrior and then load him up with weapons and have battle rounds. It's weirdly entertaining, we get into the competition by trading weapons and making different rules.
I definitely recommend it and am glad I bought it.

After reading the reviews, I was mixed as if I wanted to open the package. While the one review indicated there was no interaction and you could leave the room is partially true, the battles happen quite quickly and kept everyone entertained (dad and kids ages 8 &9). The kids liked chearing on their warrior.
Concept is to split the warriors (similar to painted ping pong balls) and weapons into to two armies. Each warrior has certain attributes (e.g., how many weapons it can hold and special ability). Put one warrior from each army into the "arena" and let them do battle. Simplistic, quick and entertaining. In terms of "air power", our unit had no problem and we did not even have it on full to blow the balls in the air. The website (www.verticonwarriors.com) also has a lesson plan that allows you to use this game to explain the Bernoulli Principle in action. I recommend you go to the website where all the instructions are explained in detail so you can get a better understanding of the warriors, weapons and rules.

The first toy my son opened on christmas. He hasn't stopped playing with it. Also got the expansion kit, and have since gone out to buy more "competitors" for the game.

The mere act of balancing a ping pong ball on a stream of air is wildly entertaining to my kids (5 and 9). This was for the 9-year-old - and he was suitably entertained even on Christmas day! The warriors are just balls and (since we read the reviews on Amazon) we knew to set the air flow just right to make them balance on the air without going beserk or sitting on the bottom of the arena. Best of all, the toy comes with tiny little plastic weapons for the balls, and the kids were able to make and remake the warriors to see what changed (and who won!) as they were playing. They have no idea that this is educational - but there's no doubt that they were learning the whole time they were playing. We got the sound attachment, which (for $6) added some nice effects but surely isn't necessary. Best of all, this uses an included AC adapter - NO BATTERIES for the air flow! - so they could play and play and play and we didn't have to charge or change anything. Great toy!
