I can't remember when I read such an exciting story. I loved Dane and felt so sorry for Maxine when he tried to change her. They were so real to me, and I was so glad they got together. Every time I had to stop and put that book down, I couldn't wait to get back to reading. Now I have to get the rest of this author's books

Wild Rose is a really wonderful book. I so enjoyed the characterizations, and the dialogue in the vernacular made for a very enjoyable read. Not to mention the story was also very romantic...that half-Spanish hero in the historical California setting, yummmm.

I loved this story, especially the half-Spanish hero. What a hunk and a gentleman to boot! Maxine, the heroine, is absolutely refreshing, a stand out and very special young woman despite her less-than-genteel upbringing. The secondary characters will worm their way into your heart as well. This one is a keeper.
