Sexy and Retro, January 14, 2010
This review is from: Wild Rose Women's Furge02 Boot (Apparel)
Some call these hooker boots, some call them retro and some discreetly call them "Pretty Woman" boots. I just love them, regardless of what you call them.
STYLE:
- The length of the boot is very very nice.
- The suede-ish material is very smooth and almost begs to be pet.
- The heel is tall enough to be dramatic, but not slutty
- the round toe keeps these boots from looking like lethal weapons
- The red sole is noticable and after wearing these for only a few hours, people have already comments on the sole of the shoe. (honestly, I never paid much attention to it, but others do)
FIT:
- The material is a bit stretchy, so there is room if you have larger thighs
- The inside of both calves has a small zipper so it's easy to pull on and then zip up
- The calf area has a little "give" but if you know you have larger calves, then buy a different boot. If you're "borderline" large calves, give these a go!
- I stand at 5'8" and have 36" lega. The boots hit me barely above the knee cap. I went for these boots because while they look like thigh high boots, I knew they wouldn't be long enough- I fully intended on getting "over the knee" boots when I got these. If you have shorter legs than me, then these might hit you as they do the model in the picture.
- The toe area is narrow, but there is room in the top. I have wider than average feet, but I wouldn't say "wide feet" as I don't need "wide shoes". They are comfortable.
- The boot slouches a bit. I found myself pulling them up a few times throughout the day, but nothing exaggerated.
QUALITY:
- The heel is sturdy. I work in a city and leaving the office, it's all about walking on cobblestone sidewalks and uneven pavement. If the heel isn't sturdy, I will not be keeping it- these are good.
- The bottom of the shoe doesn't have much tread. I would have loved to see a bit of tread on the sole so that I don't slip and I'll feel more secure in my walking. As it is, I haven't slipped yet, but it has the potential.
- The inside of the boot is warm. Great for winter days and long knee length skirts.
- The sole of the shoe is hard, no padding
I love these boots but am unsure how to wear them without looking... like an expensive hooker. haha. I have worn them with a knee length and a calf length pencil skirt and they looked classy. If worn with a thigh length skirt, you will definitely get the heads turning (if that's what you're looking for)
Great price.
SHIPPING 5 out of 5
Make Me Chic is a great shipping company. I ordered and received within 5 business days. Their shipping costs are expensive, but if you group more than one item, they will ship together for one rate. Which makes it worth it to buy more than one pair of shoes. Shipped in individual boxes, each boot was wrapped in plastic and stuffed with packing paper to keep shape.

FABULOUS boot!, February 5, 2010
This review is from: Wild Rose Women's Furge02 Boot (Apparel)
So, my boots arrived several days ahead of schedule which was great! They were wrapped individually in plastic and boxed up nicely. The faux black suede is rich and soft and doesn't have that gross "fake suede" look...The platform and heel of the boot make them look very high end. The heel is a definite stiletto. The toe is slightly rounded but pointed enough to look current. They fit snugly (with room underneath for jeans or thick tights) and come to right above my knee (I'm 5'9)...The red sole is a nice little surprise and will make them wonder "Are they Louboutins?" I am THRILLED with this boot, especially for the price. I must also add that I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear (it was all that was available at the time) and they fit perfectly WITH a tiny bit of room to spare!...So, these boots run big. I am quite happy and hope the cold weather hangs around a bit longer so I can get some good wear out of my FAB new boots!

Cute boots, excellent price!, September 23, 2010
I really wanted over the knee boots without the expensive price tag. These boots are great, especially for the price. I have very wide feet, and these shoes fit no problem, however they do run very large. I normally wear a 6.5-7 shoe, and purchased the 6.5 size. I have to wear a very thick sock for them to fit, but that is fine, they are comfortable. I am average height and the boots go about 4 in above my knee. The heal is sturdy and stable. The boots have an inner zipper which makes them much easier to pull on and off.
