Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Wild Science kits use safe, high-quality, fully compliant materials including real safety goggles and gloves. The chemicals are packed in resealable bottles so they're safer to handle than packets or pouches, and can be used over and over again. These experiments are open-ended and include extra materials to encourage kids to take what they learned and apply it to their own experiments. They also incorporate interests that kids may have. All kits include all the materials needed for the activity right in the box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great chemistry kit!, January 10, 2011

I purchased this kit for my 12 year-old son and he absolutely loved it. In a matter of fact he tried to create all the experiments in one day... The projects are easy to follow and can be reused couple times. The kit allows you to create your own blood clots, fake fish eggs, jelly worms, tadpole soup, bouncing doo doos (kind like silly putty), and hyperlaunchers (bouncing balls). The only thing that didn't work great was the hyperlaunchers. The ball is made with the help of a mold and everytime my son tried to remove the mold, the ball would break. Not sure if perhaps we should wait more time for the setting on that one.
Other than that, I think this kit is pretty neat.

You get what it says you will get. No gimmics here. I did read in a few reviews that people had trouble with the ball launcher. Seems their balls tend to fall apart when opening the mold. The instructions say to soak the balls for 30 secs and dry for 1 min before removing. They also suggest that if you are having trouble, you should increase the times to 1 min for soak and 2 mins for dry. I was paranoid so I soaked for 5 mins and dried for 10! What happened? They came out perfect every time. Just read over instructions at least once before beginning any of the projects and you'll do fine. Its great fun. My son is 5 so I do most of the 'work' but he enjoys 'helping' and learning about whats going on during the experiments. Everything you make can be 'played with' to an extent so nothing is just 'sitting there' like a dead useless project.

My 8 yr old son used his own money to buy this. He was able to do every experiment on his own, which we both appreciated! They almost all worked out...would definitely recommend it! He loves science and this was a great way for him to do something fun, science related and independent.
