4.0 out of 5 stars Where are the women's noses? Royo's Sketchbook series is better.
In this book and the other "Wild Sketches," I am constantly bothered that their nose tips have been removed in nearly every sketch, yet in his Sketchbook series, this is not an issue. The men have their noses intact in both "Wild" books, by the way. Otherwise, both books are small, nice, but not near as artistically engaging to me as his Sketchbook series as far as...

2.0 out of 5 stars meh
Small format book with good binding. Unfortunately the sketches are mild rather than wild. You get the same vapid model, big busted and expressionless in a few different poses for the 75 pages. Royo's skill in rendering the human figure is obvious but these sketches seem 'set up' as if he set out right to make a sketch book and lost the rawness that makes a sketch a...

In this book and the other "Wild Sketches," I am constantly bothered that their nose tips have been removed in nearly every sketch, yet in his Sketchbook series, this is not an issue. The men have their noses intact in both "Wild" books, by the way. Otherwise, both books are small, nice, but not near as artistically engaging to me as his Sketchbook series as far as quality. The "wildness" seems to be in the speed of the execution of each figure rather than content---oh, and let us not forget those missing nose tips! (And I had hoped the second "Wildsketches" would redeem the first somehow . . . .)

Royo's skill in rendering the human figure is obvious but these sketches seem 'set up' as if he set out right to make a sketch book and lost the rawness that makes a sketch a sketch. I don't recommend this one at all, it's not worth the $9.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational, April 18, 2011

I abselutely love every single page and will definetly be purchasing more.
I barely had flipped the book open when inspiration hit and I found myself drawing for the first time in years.
Even when I brought the book over to a friend we spent the next hours drawing, scetching and finding inspiration in every page.
I bought all three books and now wish I had bought more of his books.

Great book if you love concept art. Intro in the first page or 2 of why this book was done, then each page after has a complete sketch.

really like the freshness and immediacy of the sketches; sometimnes they are much more powerful than the finished paintings! i find them quite inspiring...
