5.0 out of 5 stars A Delightful Read

This makes for a rather slow start, but it helps ground the reader in the world and its magic. Past that opening portion, the novel picks up speed, the protagonist proves to be a compelling character, and the plot twists are unexpected and intriguing. The battle scenes are well done, the action riveting. The novel comes to a satisfying conclusion yet left this reader eager to read the rest of the trilogy.
