Unlike the Nikki Heat series which resembles the characters and cases on Castle, Wild Storm plays out like a combination of a James Bond and a Jason Bourne films. The characters and settings are realistic, but the international plot feels sightly unrealistic, especially with the lasers. I'm not for sure whom the ghostwriter is, but the writer did a great job creating a fast-paced plot that never felt cliched or boring. Derrick Storm is fun and intriguing character; plus unlike other characters from recent adventure novels Derrick never felt cartoonish. Overall, I thought Wild Storm has a wonderful blend of mystery and adventure and is more thrilling than the recent slue James Patterson's releases. Fans of series, or adventure fans in general, will enjoy reading the newest Derrick Storm thriller.

This is one of "Richard's" best! Had a hard time putting it down when commuting to and from the city for work. Great fun read and "Castle" viewer's will get a kick out of some of the characters' names.

Sure it is a little campy but that is what it is going for. It is kind of like a popcorn movie of a book. Everything in it is unbelievable to impossible but you don;t really care because you are having so much fun. The author "Richard Castle" also does a great ob of keeping the story going. Right from the start where Storm fixes a airplane wing in flight, to the very end where he is flying a damaged helicopter through a hurricane the book is no stop action and fun. He also does a great job of not getting to long winded. If the book was any longer you would start to lose interest but I he did a great job of knowing when to wrap things up. If you can get past the popcorn and campyness this is a fast fun read.

Wild Storm is the true Castle style! Enjoyed character development. Good thriller.
However, not as good as the previous "Storm"books.

I love the Derrick Storm books. They have an exciting storyline, a plausible plot, and a likeable hero. Not as researched or fully developed as the late (and missed) Vince Flynn's novels, but in that genre. This book landed on my Kindle on Tuesday, I began it on Wednesday, and by Thursday it was finished. A fun page turner. Storm was a little too (conveniently) gullible at one point, but I accepted the plot device and continued enjoying the book.

What's most fun about this is, like the Nikki Heat series, nods and winks are written for fans of the television show. The most amusing wink for me was this passage:

"No shame in having a ghostwriter," Storm said. "Some of the best books published every year are penned by talented writers whose identity the public will never know."

True enough. :)
