5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Hardcore Punk Albums Out There
I can't believe people say this album is boring, i think it's one of the best albums out there, i never get tired of listening to it, and it's been a long time (15 years now)since i first got it on Vinyl. The song "Wild in the Streets" is like a California Anthem, beautiful song, it appeared on the movie Trashing. other great tracks include Murder the Disturbed,...

3.0 out of 5 stars I'm Somewhere in the Middle on This One
This record's got a pretty tight sound and I give it a spin every once in a while. "Wild in the Streets" is definitely the strongest song on the album, and while the others don't rip as much, this isn't a "My War" type case, as there are some nuggets like "Leave Me Alone," and "Trapped." Not the greatest record ever, but I like it...

The song "Wild in the Streets" is like a California Anthem, beautiful song, it appeared on the movie Trashing. other great tracks include Murder the Disturbed, Meet the Press and Stars and Stripes. I give it 5 stars because there aren's anymore stars i can give to it, but it deserves around 8 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST AMERICAN HC. !!!!, March 29, 2005

I cannot believe there are so many people who are dissapointed with the bands sophomore effort, which I find as good as their first and even 3rd record !!!!Along with Black Flag and The Germs, these guys helped write the rules for the style and for generations to come.Loud, angry 1 min. blazes of undiluted raw aggression, with a nice sound to boot !!! Only complaint is that this used to come on a two-lps-on-one-cd with Group Sex on Frontier, but then there were a number of defective cds which did'nt really include both lp's,contrary to what the box stated,so I chose to buy both vinyl reissues separately.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Circle Jerks Cd, September 10, 2003
By

This review is from: Wild in the Streets (Audio CD)
I can't believe how low of reviews people have been giving this album. This cd is very, very under-rated. Most people have the reason to dislike it because they think it was a weak follow up to Group Sex. I disagree. True, the songs are not as short and fast as group sex, but the sound quality and the song writting has improved greatly over that album. This album is by no means "boring" or "uninspired" as other reviewers said. The songs on here are faster than most punk bands of the time. Every song on here is an amazing punk rock classic.
All in all this album is completely under rated and one of the Circle Jerks best albums. The best songs on here are "Moral Majority", "Question Authority" "wild in the Streets" and "Letter Bomb".

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless in it's absence of punk rock cliches..., October 5, 2005
This review is from: Wild in the Streets (Audio CD)
This album is timeless and classic in it's portrayal of human anxieties. Many people are judging this by today's standards on what passes as punk, but for what it was it's a great album. The sad thing about punk these days is that it has too many standards to conform to. Punk rock was representative of a then counterculture, but as a lot of things do, it melded with pop culture. Now I think that people have forgotten what punk was about. This record is pure, passionate, and fun at the same time. Keith Morris's knack for sarchasm is fully intact, on what I see as an honest view of our society's decreasing compassion towards humanity. The music does it's job by conveying the same anxious emotions in an original way. It sounds like the Circle Jerks, nothing else and nothing less.

5.0 out of 5 stars Second Best Circle Jerks Album, January 14, 2003
This review is from: Wild in the Streets (Audio CD)
This is the second best Circle Jerks album. If you're just getting into the Circle Jerks by Group Sex first. Then by their other albums, this one is better than Golden Shower of hits. The songs are decently fast and some are pretty catchy. Wild In The Streets is probably the best Circle Jerks song, although I Wanna Destroy you with Debbie Gibson is up there. The lyrics to the song are typical Circle Jerks lyrics, the album is longer than Group Sex so it deserves credit just for that. Definitely worth picking this album up.

5.0 out of 5 stars truly great l.a. punk album, December 4, 2007

i grew up in los angeles, "wasting" my youth going to the roxy & the whiskey & the anti-club & the cuckoo's nest, seeing the jerks & the flag & FEAR & agent orange & social d. and everyone else i could see.
i think this is a great follow-up to Group Sex even though it's quite different. I think people give it bad reviews simply because it doesn't sound exactly like the first album. it's different but it's still plenty smart and fun and loud and a little mean just like it should be. i recommend it without reservation to anyone who likes punk.

HINT: a while back, Frontier records re-issued "Group Sex" and "Wild in the Streets" on ONE DISC. If you don't already have Group Sex, it might be worth shopping around for the two-fer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild In the Streets!, May 15, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Wild in the Streets (Audio CD)
Ok first of all, i am 14 and a half, I just didn't feel like opening an account. I'll just cut to the chase. If there was a 4 1/2 star rating i would click that, but since 5 is the closest, i'll pick that. How i found out about the circle jerks is because I own thaw (Tony Hawks' American Wasteland) I liked the track Wild in the Streets because it is a good punk song. And there's a bunch of other good punk songs on it like Stars and Stripes, and Question Authority. So if you want to listen to any Circle Jerks albums, listen to this one.

Good songs that leave me feeling like they should be a packed a little tighter, that's all.

More than one person referred to this as a second outing for the band, did everybody miss wild in the streets and golden shower of hits?

This is a 1985 record that came at a time when like one reviewer said it was time to continue growing.

This is a good record, not great but there is some really funny stuff on here.
