Delicious, Diverse and Comprehensive,
This review is from: Wild Taste (Paperback)
I love this special cookbook. It's a rare find. The drawings are creative and their themes reflect the diverse cuisines that the authors have incorporated throughout. I was glad to have enough space on each page so that I could write my own notes about the recipes. They are quite easy to follow, and the results are delicious. A few of these recipes are time-consuming and require a cook who really enjoys cooking. I found this cookbook to be diverse, comprehensive and well organized with good information on wild foods as well as possible substitutes when the wild things aren't available. I have tried a large number of these recipes with excellent results. Three of my family's favorites are "Mallow Pistou Soup", "Spicy Shrimp with Leccinum (a mushroom)", and "Wild Strawberry Tarts". I highly recommend "The Wild Taste" by Kathryn G. and Andrew L. March to all those who love cooking and eating the results!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wild Taste (Paperback)
This book is primarily white space, and the recipes are decidedly ho-hum, and although there is one recipe that I was happy to get (sauced deviled eggs made with wild mushrooms -- excellent idea!) if I could have looked inside and seen the index (the very best way to judge a foraging or cookbook...) I would not have wasted the $3.99 shipping charge.
