Book Description

On leave of absence from the police force and desperate to resolve the intense anger inside him, Ethan James escapes to the Shenandoah Mountains...alone.

During one of the worst storms to hit the area in years, he's surprised when he opens the door to find Shanay Gold, an old friend, and sometime submissive lover, dripping wet and looking sexy as hell. So sexy, he has to keep reminding himself he's kept her at arms-length because of the future she wants. A future he can't give her.

When lightning sparks an old flame, desires blaze to life, and Shanay and Ethan are left with little choice but to roll with passion's Wild Thunder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, well-written and believable October 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wild Thunder by Kacey Hammell is an erotic short story published as part of Decadent Publishing's The Edge series.

It's a spin-off of her Illusions series, but it still works as a standalone, for the most part. This is the story of Shanay Gold and Ethan James. Some serious trouble went down in Ethan's life, so he escaped to a cabin in the Shenandoah Mountains. The trouble is, he's been there for weeks and people are worried about him, not least his parents. So Shanay, who adores Ethan's parents, heads up there to see how he is, and to try and convince him to return to civilisation.

Things don't go exactly as planned, however, and Shanay ends up on Ethan's doorstep, soaked to the skin and freezing cold. The sparks fly between them, but they both try hard to remember the reasons they never went past friends-with-benefits; they don't want the same things for their futures.

The close proximity brings feelings to the surface for both of them, and soon they give in to their passions as the storm rages outside. But can they resolve their issues, or are they destined never to be together?

Wild Thunder is a great little read. It's a quickie, but it's incredibly sexy, well-written and believable. Kacey's writing is very engaging, so if you enjoy short erotic romance tales, then you should definitely add this book to your eReader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Quickie! November 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Usually when a story begins with an attractive young woman stranded on the side of a the road in a rainstorm, it does not end well for her. I like this type of story much better!

This little story is hot and steamy instant gratification, just like any good quickie should be. Another of the author's In the Arms of the Law short stories, it has a great combination of a strong and submissive female lead and a brooding Dom with a soft side. It's definitely worth a read, and I hope to read more about these two characters.

"Sex wouldn't solve any problems. Oh, how well she understood that. But for a while she could find the fire she craved in his arms and the loneliness would ease.

Hands bracketing her head, he held her in place and sought her lips. His glorious taste filled her mouth, intoxicating. The taste of coffee and Ethan captured her heart and soul"

*I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would love to see more January 2, 2013
By Carin
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a fun and sexy short story/novella that is just long enough for things like a bath, waiting through kids practice, waiting for the doctor or eating lunch. I would however not recommend reading this at work.

I really wish this had been a longer story it felt a lot like the first chapters to a much longer story, I am hopeful we will find out what happens to Shanay and Ethan after the end of this book.
I felt almost like this was a fantastic tease. It was enough steamy hot dominant man and blazing hot sex to get you going but then it is over before it really got a chance to get going.

I have to give this one a 4 out of 5 because while what is here is good it just leaves to much hanging for my taste.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
