5.0 out of 5 stars Wild Ways, May 7, 2007
This review is from: Wild Ways: New Stories About Women on the Road (Paperback)
'Today I saw this sign. It was locked to a fence outside one of the houses squished between the Vietnamese mafia cafes on Dundas West. Someone had painted on it in yellow free-hand capitals:

BE BLATANT
BE EMOTIONAL
RISK EVERYTHING'

Wild Ways presents new short stories about women on the move by some of the best female writers of Britian, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. By turns adventurous, diasterous, funny and sad, these are tales of independent travel and subversions of the macho world of the road trip, of women travelling to places real or imagined, alone or with friends, leading, following or just totally lost. Some travel in a paroxysm of anxiety, some in a drunken haze, but all are safe in the knowledge of great travellers everywhere, that it's not the arriving that counts, it's the journey.
