A DISTRACTION FROM SLEEP, August 1, 2002

The Relax with series is usually an excellent choice for CDs to fall asleep or just relax, I own most of them. The first time I played Relax with Wild White Water I spent the entire hour trying to guess what are they were doing. The second time I programmed it for the middle of the night to use as white noise. It woke me up. What are they doing? The white water stays at the same sound level and finally starts to sound like a tv station with the white snow noise instead of the cable. That would be fine for white noise except for the very strange sounds that you kept trying to identify. It sounds like someone walking through the shallows wearing water proof shoes. The water is shooting out around the ankles making soggy wet shoe sounds. If the water sounds had a regular rhythm or if it was not so close to the microphone you might be able to sleep through it but, it is no use the noise just keeps you awake. It would really be great if this wonderful series did a new different version of wild white water instead of leaving you wondering what are they doing?
