Another Great Oracle by Lucy Cavendish,

Once upon a time they say.....opens the Faery Oracle Guidebook. A beautiful faery on the cover beckons you to come and join her in FaeryLand. Inside, you will find introductory information on Faeires, suggestions on how to work with faeires, questions to ask of them and various layouts to read the Oracle's messages. The 180 page book describes each card adding divinatory and reversal meanings along with information on the author and artist.
The Oracle deck consists of 47 cards beautifully rendered by Selina Fenech. Mysteriously 2 cards are in sepia tones while the other 4x6 cards are in color. Each card has a title, such as "Cry for Nature" and a subtitle like, "Mourning for something sacred which seems lost." Both male and female faeries are represented. The backs are deeper colors of brown and sepia with an outline of the Flower of Life symbol centered with a double 7 pointed star and edged with a golden fringe style border. The card stock is flexible enough for shuffling if your hands fit these cards. If not, they are flexible enough to shuffle from the sides, rather than end to end. I find the artwork for the Oracle to present a more consistent message than the conglomeration of artists in it's older sibling, Oracle of the DragonFae. While the artwork of the DragonFae is beautiful, the various styles in a reading could be a bit jarring. Using Selina's artwork exclusively has solved this issue, yet I do wonder why some of the cards are sepia. They do not appear to be particularly pensive in nature, nor necessarily introspective. These are very active cards. They offer accurate and extensive information. The reader is easily connected to the faeries of this deck and the messages of each rendering. I'm certain this latest Oracle from Lucy Cavendish will become as classic as her other works.

Very Powerful Deck,

Just beginning to read about Faery's and their history. Somehow I was drawn to this Faery Oracle. When I recieved it I was intrigued and spell bound by the beautiful layout of the cards. I began reading the book and couldn't stop. The book is very detailed and the meanings/interpretation of the cards are very descriptive and very "ACCURATE". There are suggestions/rituals for you to connect with the Faery's but I was not willing to do that at the moment. I believe the rituals described only boost your connection with Faery but in my OPINION not necessary to get answers you are searching for. However, I did say a prayer and invited the Faery's into my life for guidance. After shuffling the cards a bit a card fell out of the deck. My quick reaction was to gather it and place it back in the deck. The card was "Little Boy Blue". Didn't know anything about the card just yet and why it popped out as it did. Anyway, I placed the card aside and continued to shuffle until I was ready to lay a spread. I used the suggested 5 card spread. I honestly was freaked out with the cards that I picked for each position (which describes where you are in life). Every card was reversed and described EXACTLY my life details in terms of blockages, healing and so forth. The book offers reversal meanings and aren't necessarily negative. Just some things the Faery's believe you need to work on to better yourself. What really freaked me out because they were so "ACCURATE" I tested the cards by doing their suggested 3 card spread, Past, Present, Future. I am thinking that while shuffling the first time I didn't notice whether or not if I had the cards upright or reversed. In shuffling the cards for the 3 card spread I purposefully made sure each card was upright. Ok, now this is what blew me away. I laid the first 3 cards down and placed them in their position Past, Present, Future. I turned each card over one by one and again, all 3 were reversed and had mimicked the 5 card spread in terms of my blockages/healing. I said no way something must be wrong. To get clarification of future events you are allowed to pull a 4th card and so on depicting time in months. The card pulled was also reversed. Scratching my head I turned over the rest of the cards one by one but not to lay on my spread for further clarification. All were upright. I freaked out. I put the cards back together and thanked the Faery's for their advice/guidance. I just sat and reflected on what just happened. This is a very "POWERFUL" deck but not for the timid. I "HIGHLY" Recommend this deck for anyone who really wants to get an understanding of their life. It's good for Spiritual, Emotional and Physical well being.

These cards are simply gorgeous! The artwork is stunning and the book is a treasure in itself. I have quite a collection of Oracle and Tarot cards and these are equal favourite with the Wisdom of the Hidden Realms (Collette Baron- Reid)
It's like giving yourself a special gift every time you choose a card! I can't speak highly enough of these. Lucy Cavendish and Selina Fenech take a bow! Treat yourself, you won't be disappointed! The quality is excellent and the content mesmerizing!

Accurate Right Out of The Box...,
By Danielle (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle (Book & Cards) (Paperback)
This deck was my first entry into the world of Lucy Cavendish. I originally wanted the Oracle of the Dragonfae but couldn't find it anywhere locally. So the only of Lucy's deck to show up in a store was this one.
As soon as I pulled the deck out of the box, it was unbelievably accurate. I use it in readings for others in conjunction with my Tarot readings. There is an indepth book that comes with the deck and the deck meanings are upright and reversals. So you really have 94 meanings for the cards. I like the fact there are reversed and upright meanings for the cards. The artwork is nicely done, nothing I personally go bonkers over, but they don't add or hinder to the usage of the cards and the allure. Now that I have Lucy's Oracle of the Dragonfae and Oracle of Shadows and Light, I don't use the Wild Wisdom (WW) so much anymore. The WW deck seems to give practical advice and be more intuned with prediction than the other decks. Lucy's other decks get to the deep and spiritual heart of the matter, makes you understand the undercurrent as to why a situation is happening and how you can take it upon yourself to change yourself. The Wild Wisdom deck is a little bit of this..., but just gives more practical advice in ways to handle superficial matters. Like an incisive directive, much like how Tarot can work. It also mirrors at you the issue you're having that you may be ignoring or well aware about but need confirmation for. You can use this deck with or without reversals. Lucy believes as you work more with the deck, you will have more reversals showing up naturally so she doesn't insist you intitally create a deck with reversals, but as time comes along from usage they will show up naturally and these are cards of a lot of importance. I like this deck, it speaks differently than Lucy's current decks, but does not make it any less special.. its like comparing apples and oranges. But if you want really deep deep deep psychological answers to questions and not directives, I would pick Lucy's other decks. If you want incisive delivery to problems then the Wild Wisdom is the one for you.

I am absolutely smitten with this set. The cards are HOT!! The book not only offers meanings and reversed meanings (which I personally think is so important to consider), but it also explains about the Fae, how to know if you connect to them, and how to recognize when they are working with you. For anyone who feels a true connection to the Fae this is a wonderful deck. Plus the cards are beautiful to look at. They aren't tarot cards however but they are easily labeled so learning to interpret meanings isn't too difficult.

The set consists of 47 cards along with the 188 page companion book. The cards are large and shiny. This is a must have for any oracle/tarot deck collector, specially if you like faeries.
