My six year old daughter loves animals, especially wild ones. She has been fascinated with Alaska and with wolves for some time now, although (or perhaps because) we live in a large city. She wasn't initially attracted to this book because it isn't very beautiful, but she was captivated by the accounts of real wolves in their natural surroundings. There are many books that relate the nasty side of wolves, and there are some that attempt to undo the damage of the myths of fear; but to read about how wolves really live (and to acknowledge their mystery) is the best for my young wildlife lover.

We kept checking this out from the library and finally she said 'Mom, can we just buy it...." She loves how the story line and the realistic pictures show her the facts about wolves. She likes that some of the words are hard, but not too hard, so she can read it by herself.

Great book for second graders. My grandson loved this book. It is entertaining and educational.

Again, I love these books. We have several of them and I've not been upset w/ any of them. Very informative and right on target for my kids' reading level. Great choice!

Beware of the "discount" on this item. I bought over $25 to be eligible for free shipping, and my order listed over $25 purchased. But then a "4-for-3 "discount was added that made the order go below $25 so my shipping charge was $8 and I paid more for the total order by getting this "discount." Double check your order.
