Book Description

March 3, 2003 Notable Westerners
The expression "wild woman" conjures late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century images of early American West rebellious daughters, dance-hall girls, cowgirls, and female outlaws. The fourth volume in Fulcrum's popular Notable Westerners series, Wild Women of the Old West presents the sensational lives and exploits of nine notorious women from the days of boisterous frontier saloons and high-noon showdowns. Meet Baby Doe Tabor, Emily D. West (Morgan), Sadie Orchard, Calamity Jane, and others in a book that explores both the myths and realities of their iconoclastic lives.
