Editorial Reviews

Review

"This is a great debut title. Ms Young introduces a fantastic family with four brothers.  Each is unique and interesting in their own right but together they are stellar."  - Night Owl Reviews

"This story is a charmer, and funny, and chock full of hunky males. It is also well worth the read." - More Romance Please"

"A great romantic read with just the right touches of ego, jealousy, competition and a straight-forward drive toward career goals. The question is if there is, in fact, room for love in those plans and Cooper and Riley are determined to figure it out.
" - Readers' Favorite Book Reviews (5 Star Review)

"WILDE RIDERS is a sweet lighthearted country romance between a city slicker and a former country boy turned 'Wall Street Wannabe' that tries to break the notion that everyone can be strictly classified by stereotypes." - BJ from The Romance Reviews

From the Author

The OLD TOWN COUNTRY ROMANCE series is not about sexy billionaires or bad-boy rock stars. These are realistic stories about four sexy brothers from a small town who hang out at the local bar on Friday nights and play country music. These are regular guys who drive Pickups and work hard for a living. They are the guys who served their country in Iraq or work as cops.

The OLD TOWN COUNTRY ROMANCE novels are what I like to refer to as "Hick Lit." They feature loud trucks, cold beer and hot guys. These are not dark and disturbing stories. These are romances with a little spice and lots of heart. I hope you enjoy reading about the Wilde brothers as much as I enjoy writing about them!

A good lead into a series about four very different brothers. I enjoyed the family dynamics in this stand alone book. I was really getting into the story when suddenly the plot stopped progressing. What happened to the fraud charges? With all the promised accounting help from Cooper, did Jake ever get the hang of taking care of the business? Were they able to drag the business back from the abyss?

This book would benefit from some editing by someone who knows how a book should go together, as well as help with grammar and spelling. For example:
USED / SHOULD HAVE USED
"different than"/"different from"
"older than me" / "older than I"
"like a vice." / "like a vise"
"longer lags" / "longer legs"
"Why are you ginning?" / "Why are you grinning?"
"weaved into the design" / "woven into the design"
plus several instances of extra words in a sentence and several redundancies such as "ascends up" and "descends down".

We needed help knowing whether we were reading the words of a male or female named Riley. Not until she describes herself as "petite" do we get a clue.

I give this book a 3.5 but we don't have that choice in the stars.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest opinion.

If I’m being honest the best part of the book for me was the cover. Sexy cowboy, count me in. Who knew they had cowboys and farms in New Jersey?
Ok I only gave this book a 3.5 because to be honest it was a little boring to me, not that it was a bad book. and it did have some cute and cuddly type moments and lots of sweet moments and even some hands on hips feisty moments, but to me what it didn’t have was that feeling that I need to read this, that I need to know what will happen next. It was very predictable. But if you like sweet easy going romance books where you know it will all turn out ok in the end then you will like this book.
This is a romantic story of boy meets girl while visiting his home town to help out his brother with their family bar. He wants girl but hears her say that she does not like a certain type man and guess who fits that type? So, boy misleads her into thinking he still lives in small town in family home. But, we all know how this will play out and yes she finds out and can’t get out of town fast enough.
Cooper is one of 4 brothers and he is the only one who has left and moved away. I liked his character but felt overall he was a little boring. His brothers Jake and even Tucker who is kind of a wild card had more character and charisma, attitude, things that will make me remember them. Riley to me seemed like a stuck up bitch, but after getting to know her a little better I felt a little more involved with her character but overall even she still left me feeling pretty blah. But I do look forward to learning more about Jake, Tucker and Hunter as the series continues.

I don't want to give out plot spoilers so I'm going to stick with how I felt while reading Wilde Riders.
I wanted a fun, sexy, and touching romance; this book delivered in spades. The humorous conversations, love story, and sibling rivalry had me completely engaged from start to finish. I adored the hero and heroine and I've developed a real soft-spot for some of the secondary characters. Everyone was so well developed that it was easy to picture them. I'm so glad to see that each of the Wilde brothers will have a book, because I'm hooked. Seriously, I want the next book now!
I also loved the song, Summer by Dan Patrick Fulton. It was a treat to find it on youtube and hear the melody to the beautiful words I'd read. You'll know what I'm talking about if you read this gem.
All in all I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves romance.

This is the most juvenile writing I have encountered in a long while. I suggest the author take a class in creative writing. First: the author insists in writing in the first person for EVERY character. Get a clue - I get lost every chapter. There is no story here. I'm still trying to figure out who the principal characters are. I know only one principal character: I.

I didn't bother to finish the book or even to get involved. I have better things to do with my time.

Repetition.
After reading how mom and dad died six months apart and the phrase "A million before 30" three times each in the very first few pages, I closed the book and set it aside. I have learned over the years that If there is this much repetition at the beginning it will continue to the end. It might be a good story but life is too short and there are too many great books to read to put up with continuous repetition. I feel for those that left 5 star reviews....you have never read a good book.

Couldn't Finish the book which is totally unusual for me. This is the worst writing of any book I have ever encountered. It reads like a 6th grader would have written it and is in the 1st person. It was always I, I, and I no matter who was speaking. You couldn't tell when one speaker stopped and the other
started. Vulgar also. Will not read this author again.
