I Love This Family!!!!,
By
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms. Denison has gifted us with another great sexy, and fun read with the latest in the Wilde Family series.Ashley St. Claire has not had an easy time finding the perfect relationship. If they aren't out for her money (her family is a well-to-do family in Chicago owning their own hotels in several great cities) then they think that she is just a good girl and not worth bothering with. Ashley decides that it's up to her to find the one guy that will be interested in her not her portfolio so she uses her birthday wish to find the perfect guy to have the most incredible "melt your bones" fling with. What she doesn't expect to find is the one man that will offer her that and so much more!!! Bad boy Scott Wilde knows how to love a woman right, the problem is he's had the misfortune of being a boy toy one to many times and is now looking for the perfect woman to maybe live happily ever after since most of his family has managed to not only fall in love but marry and in some cases start having families. Scott is totally blown away though when on a dare from his Wilde brothers attempts to pick up the beauty that has just walked into the bar that he is hanging out in. Scott can tell that she is different right away, and since he has never met a dare that he walked away from he heads towards the beauty at the bar that has been shooting down every guy that has approached her. He is totally blown away when said lady askes him to be her birthday present. Well, heck he would be a fool to say no. Problem is Ashley touches him on many different levels and this hard working contractor has his work cut out for him proving that their one night stand was just the beginning of a very good thing. This was again a fast paced read that was both sexy and fun. Many of the Wilde clan are included in this book and it's fun to see how their lives have moved on. New secondary characters only add to this great story. Scott and Ashley had great chemistry and Ms. Denison managed to keep them both mixed up without the "problem" becoming overly tedious. The premise of working class stiff, and rich girl had me a bit skeptical but Ms. Denison managed to pull it off. If you are a fan of this series you won't want to miss this latest installment. If you are new to Ms. Denison then you are in for a real good read!

The Wilde Family Is Back,
By Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Mass Market Paperback)
The Wilde One by Janelle Denison is another sensual journey into the Wilde Family.Ashley St. Claire is tired of men only seeing her families' hotels not the real woman. Men have burned Ashley in the past so she decides on her 30th birthday to have a fling. After a hard day at work at his construction business, Scott Wilde decides to unwind at a local bar. He meets Ashley and she gets him to agree to be her birthday present. Scott cannot believe this exceptional woman has fallen into his path. She wants a no string, one night, no name affair. This night sets them both on fire and makes them both want for more. Scott has never felt like this before and is resolute to help Ashley see that they can turn this attraction into a promise of a lifetime. Ashley and Scott share more then a dazzling passion, they both have a connection that is rare. The Wilde Side has all the passion, wit and family that you expect form a Denison book.

Not Her Best,
By Mouser "The Chinchilla Guerilla" (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Mass Market Paperback)
Eeps! That's the best start. There I was, so in love with her novella "Something Wilde" from "I Brake for Bad Boys" that I was just panting for another story. So eagerly I bought this and Wilde Thing. I read Wilde thing first and it was imaginative and steamy. In comparison, this read like stereo instructions. You find yourself wondering why she has to hide her name from him so bad, why she keeps being such a b***h to him, and why he keeps taking her back. Add to that a sex scene which involves the champagne bottle seen on the cover, YIKES! and you have a story that's uncomfortable and not romantic. It was a pretty good idea and well written in terms of details and charcater interraction, but I have one beef with it. She keeps setting things in Chicago and as a native to the Second City I barely recognize any facet of the town in it. I mean, ugh. Anonymous coffee shops? Betsy Johnson boutique on Michigan Avenue? No way. I know Ms. Dennison lives n Italy but I think I'll mail her a guide to the city. Sorry I didn't rehash the plot, didn't think I needed to. This one might be worth reading, particularly if you're determined to keep the flow of the Wilde stories going, but if you're new to Ms. Dennison, don't start here.

The Wilde boys are back! Very highly recommended,

This review is from: The Wilde Side (Mass Market Paperback)
For her thirtieth birthday Ashley St. Claire makes an erotic and provocative wish. After three years, for one night, she wants to walk on the wild side. So she trades her designer suits for a short skirt and heads to a bar on the outskirts of Chicago. There she meets Scott Wilde, the bachelor who agrees to make her fantasies a reality. But she introduces herself as "Just Ashley" and after a fantastic night together, slips out in the morning without leaving a clue to her identity. She has been burned one too many times for being one of the St. Claires of the wealthy family that owns a five star hotel chain.Scott cannot forget the girl who rocked his world. While Ashley is obviously a good girl, her eagerness to be bad for a night proves absolutely irresistible. When she disappears without a trace the next morning, Scott cannot help feeling intensely disappointed. So when she calls a few days later, he eagerly welcomes an opportunity to talk. But he has already been burned once by a woman who kept secrets, and he is desperate to know Ashley's true identity. It will take more than a wild ride between the sheets to convince Ashley to give him a real chance. Readers have come to expect excellence from author Janelle Denison, and once again she delivers with THE WILDE SIDE. A provocatively sexy read that readers will find impossible to put down, THE WILDE SIDE strikes the perfect balance between sensuality, erotica and romance. Ashley and Scott struggle with conflicts and emotional baggage that keep their characters depth. Ashley proves her heart to be made of gold as she struggles with thefts from her boutique. Yet she has spent most of her life living up to other people's expectations rather than honoring her own needs and desires. Scott is remarkably believable hero who once made a mistake that cost the family business dearly, and a personal choice that makes him incredibly gun shy of anyone who cannot be absolutely forthright. Fans will be eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Wilde family. THE WILDE SIDE comes very highly recommended.

The Wilde Side,
By Kelly "Reviewer for The Sinfully Sensuous" (Littleton, Colorado) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Wilde Series, Book 2) (Hardcover)
Ashley St. Claire had just turned thirty today, and her gift to herself was a night out on the town. Her goal was to seduce a man that had no ulterior motives. Since her family was wealthy and high profile, she wanted a chance to be with a man no strings attached. Her history with men was abysmal, so if she remained anonymous, it could be a night she would remember forever. Ashley wanted just one night to be herself before she had to take her rightful place in the family. She chose an out of the way bar in the Chicago suburbs to make her one night only debut.
Scott Wilde was out with his cousins and brothers shooting pool. They all saw the gorgeous blonde walk into the bar at the same time. As she shot down pass after pass by cocky men, Scott was bet he would be turned down also. Not being able to turn down a wager, he tried something no one else had - honesty. He told her all about the bet, and before either of them knew what hit them, Scott and Ashley were giving into the lust between them that was all consuming. What was supposed to be a pleasure filled one time only night quickly turned into an affair neither of them anticipated. A good addition to the Wilde series. The story is an old formula, but the author makes it work well between Scott and Ashley. She has a lot of baggage and embarrassment to come to terms with. Always trying to be the perfect daughter above reproach is also starting to wear on Ashley. She found unexpected pleasure and contentment with Scott, but isn't sure she can have a forever.

A sequel, please!!,
By mahikahn (Columbus, Ohio USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Mass Market Paperback)
Ashley St. Claire is wealthy, indulged and doesn't own a piece of clothing that isn't designer. On her 30th birthday, Ashley decides to go slumming, pick up a guy in a bar and have wild sex with him. Scott Wilde is owner of a construction company, very down to earth and is hoping that the right woman will come along, one who is honest with him. A few years ago, Scott was burned by a rich woman who lied to him and used him as a "boy toy". Ashley and Scott are immediately attracted to each other so she goes to his house for sex. How dumb is that? She knew nothing about this guy, he could have been abusive or a serial killer. But I digress. Ashley never tells Scott anything about herself except her first name. He wants to see her again but Ashley doesn't want her family to know about him. OK, she had an "incident" with a man several years ago because of her money but Scott doesn't know who she is so what's the problem? She acted as if she were ashamed of him and that he wasn't good enough. She treated him exactly like the woman in his past had. I really have little tolerance for people who think that just because they have money and wear designer clothes they are somehow above everyone else. I loved Scott and as always, Janelle Denison's writing. But I just couldn't see much in Ashley and I can't imagine her and Scott being together. Maybe I'm just in a picky mood today. That said I would definitely recommend this one and I'm looking forward to a sequel!

Erotic Romance,
By books & shoes (atlanta) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Paperback)
A friend loaned me this book and when I finally picked it up the other evening, I flew through the half of it! My first Denison. She knows how to create some SERIOUSLY HOT scenes!! This I like. After that, the story carried on like any other predictable romance and Denison never seemed able to create that same sizzle that the first part of the book had. That left me a bit disappointed.
However, it was an easy breezy read with great sex! I'll read more by this author.

Wilde Side,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Paperback)
What I would have like was reading something about the story, before purchasing the book. This seems to be the one down fall of Amazon.com. I know this author, so I basically went on her reputation. The book was good reading, and touch on the difficulty of relationships and finding a way that works, and learning to trust the people who you are going to have a relationship with, and learn to have confidence in it. The advantage of buying in the store, is that you can read the back cover which gives you a general outlook on what the story is about, and than you decide if you want to buy it. Sometimes I order a book, and than find out that I have already read it several months or years ago. Why do I do mail orders, because I get impatience to wait for the books to come out. My downfall, your advantage.

A 'Just-as-Sexy Wilde Cousin'!,
By
This review is from: The Wilde Side (Mass Market Paperback)
Reviewer: Kari Thomas keggie@commspeed.netReaders have been enamored and enticed, becoming quite addicted to Ms. Denison's sinfully sexy WILDE brothers in previous books. Now it's time to be willingly snared by the just-as-sexy Wilde cousins! Construction company owner, Scott Wilde has a reputation just as hot as his cousins. When he sees a stunning beauty enter the bar where he's playing pool, he finds himself completely stunned and intrigued. She makes him feel different than any other woman ever has. After watching her brush off each man who approaches her, Scott agrees to a bet that she won't do it to him. Little does he know how drastically his life is about to change! Ashley St.Claire has just turned thirty years old and has decided that she wants `one special birthday present' --- a night with a perfect stranger who doesn't have a clue how rich she is, and who will give her a night of unequal passion for her to remember always before she has to settle down. She wants to fulfill fantasies she's never had the opportunity to dare try, set her inner shameless inhibitions free, and never have to worry that the guy she's with will be thinking only of her `financial value'. When she sees Scott eyeing her, her whole body comes alive for the first time. Scott is managing to melt her with just his smoldering, hungry look. When he approaches her, she `knows' he's the one she wants to be her birthday present. Both Scott and Ashley have past relationships that soured because of dishonesty and deceit, so they're reluctant to fully `give' to the other. But their passion, their hunger for each other, soars out of control from moment one and they willingly succumb to the fiery need that pulls them into a relationship that has no hope of enduring --- because of who they are and the entirely different lives they live. Will Scott and Ashley be able to get past the obstacles standing in their way? Will they be able to finally, fully learn to trust in a love that is real and deep? Filled with Ms. Denison's trademark of sinfully sexy heroes, strong heroines, scorching and erotic love scenes that can melt the pages, this is another `Don't miss!' book. Readers will be left panting --- and already demanding `more' before they even finish the book! And look for Alex Wilde's story, ONE WILDE WEEKEND, in June 2004.

This was my first read by this author and I loved it. The Wilde boys are HOT and the first sex scene in the book captivated me. I think every woman can relate to wanting a bad boy.
My only complaint about the book was the ending. ~ (...) That is why I gave it 4 stars, otherwise it would have definitely been 5. I couldn't put it down! I would like to request more Wilde novels please! |
