He holds degrees in security management and jurisprudence and is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. GREAT BOOK IF YOU HAVE SOME BASIC SKILLS!,

This books teaches "Wilderness Evasion"! If you have some basic outdoor skills this books will greatly enhance them. The author obviously has a strong background in military SERE (Escape and Evasion) and gives this knowledge a more civilian focus in the book.
Those with no wilderness skill whatsoever may find this book a bit lacking - the author doesn't spend much time on basic camping skills. However, if you know the basics already, GET THIS BOOK! It will greatly enhance your survival skills. As a wilderness guide and survival instructor myself, and a former military SERE instructor, I strongly recommend this book for anyone ready to move beyond basic survival skills!

Michael Chesbro has a very easy to read writing style. Based on the style and interesting material, I zipped through this book in just a couple of days. Lots of information and tips that I haven't found elsewhere in print. The book doesn't get bogged down trying to re-teach and re-hash things found in other survival books. It directs you to other sources where necessary rather than spending a lot of time on topics covered elsewhere. I consider this a good addition to my survival library simply because it approaches a subject from a different perspective and made me think about some topics differently.

Wilderness Evasion combines just the right mix of survival skills and evasion techniques to make YOU a successful evader.Michael Chesbro has clearly "been there and done that" as is clearly demonstrated by the techniques he teaches in this book. No "Rambo" stuff just accurate, workable, and proven skills and techniques for effective wilderness evasion. I am a SAR (Search & Rescue) Team Leader, and "Wilderness Evasion" is now required reading for all of our team members! OUTSTANDING !
