The expressive lyrics come to life with Hope's affecting vocals. Her raw emotion brings you right to the place she's singing from -- her heart and soul. An extraordinary voice, with seamless musical accompaniment. Poignant and heartrending -- you will be moved by this music.

If you like old timey country music, check this out. South Carolina singer/songwriter Hope Nunnery's debut album is a haunting and evocative mix of gospel, country, blues and bluegrass. Ms. Nunnery's powerful voice, full of backwoods pain and heartache, serves her poignant lyrics well and the musical accompaniment - both her own and partner Steve Tarshis's picking along with other fine musicians - has a driving beat. I especially like the title song, "Wilderness Lounge," the hopeful "Spare Me a Set of Wings" and the prayerful "Still Waters." Although, truly, it's hard to pick favorites and "Sweep My Yard Clean," "Little Pink Radio," and "Judgment Day" have stories to tell and pictures to paint as well.
