From Library Journal
This book is a directory of opportunities for outdoor education in the United States and abroad. The first section covers college and university programs, nature centers, natural history museums and associations, tour agencies, lodges, and miscellaneous workshops. Entries describe each program, staff credentials, facilities, and the types of people who attend. Many also rate the level of difficulty, ranging from easy to rigorous. The next section presents a series of interesting vignettes written by trip participants that summarize the highlights of their experiences. The volume is cross-referenced by subject, region, and college credit indexes. The appendix contains a short list of books and periodicals relating to learning and adventure education. Recommended for public and undergraduate college li braries.
