5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Change of Pace for Mr. Berry
Blessed with one of country's best male voices, John delivers a powerful and diverse collection with "Wildest Dreams." Some of his diehard "country" fans may be disappointed with some of his material, but it's a great set, highlighted by his version of "You're the Voice." Nice to see John try and become a little more diverse in his...

2.0 out of 5 stars Too bad you can't just buy the single
I love the single from this album, "Power Windows." But it's not available as a cassette single so I bought the whole album. What a waste! None of the other songs are as good as that one. There are too many slow, uninteresting songs, so the album sounds like something you could fall asleep too. But "Power Windows" is great.

1.0 out of 5 stars How disappointing!!, September 28, 1999

After waiting this long for a new John Berry album, he re-emerges with an album that sounds like he's trying to be a pop star!! The songs are meaningless and sound like the kind of things Michael Bolton would sing. John, we expected more from you!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Berry, Berry disappointing!!, October 5, 1999

I've enjoyed all of John Berry's past records, but he lost me on this one. The musical sound is very different from his others -- it's not an improvement, either! I hope he thinks about what he wants to do with his career. He hasn't had a hit record in a long time; this type of album won't change that!

2.0 out of 5 stars Three years wasn't worth the wait, October 1, 1999

This review is from: Wildest Dreams (Audio CD)
I love John Berry's voice, and it's been three long years since an album. I thought maybe he retired! Then I saw this & decided to try it. It's not full of the usual emotional performances we have come to expect from John Berry. It doesn't move me and doesn't make me cry. The emotionalism isn't there. I guess I will keep playinig Standing On The Edge and put this one away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Upbeat, contemporary and sung with perfection, November 2, 1999

John is the "Pavarotti" of country. His range is like no other. This CD is more contemporary than country; very upbeat and passionate. John never disappoints fans in concert or in a CD. He always gains new fans when I give his CD's at Christmas.

What a beautiful CD! My friends and I used to listen to John live in Athens, GA on weekends. He always had a packed house. What brought in the crowd was his VOICE. He is blessed with a unique sound that brings goosebumps and tears. "Salvation" may be one of his best ballads. When he hits those high notes...wow! There's plenty of toe tappers here as well. One bonus from my perspective...I love the song "You'll Be in My Heart", but I didn't want to buy the Tarzan soundtrack for that one song. John's version here caught me by surprise. It is really nice. This CD will stay in my changer for the next several weeks. You don't get tired of these tunes and John's great voice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD, October 2, 1999
This review is from: Wildest Dreams (Audio CD)
John is at his best on this CD. Lots of ballads. His voice is beautiful and the background vocals are excellent. I play this over and over. John especially does a great job on "Salvation" and a Phil Collins song.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of John Berry's Best, October 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wildest Dreams (Audio CD)
This album is one of John's best. It was well worth the wait. His voice is like no other in country music and it would be nice if he started getting noticed for the talent that he is. I would put him up against GB any day of the week.
