5.0 out of 5 stars The Wildest! By Louis Prima featuring Keely Smith, May 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Wildest (Audio CD)
To all fans of jazz and swing! I recently purchased this CD and cannot stop playing it! All the tunes are GREAT and the recording sounds FRESH & LIVELY considering it was originally released on LP in October of 1956! Everyone knows Jump,Jive,An'Wail from The Gap commercials but there SO much more to the Louis Prima sound that needs to be HEARD and re-discovered!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best, September 16, 2000

Out of the 200 CDs I own, this is in the top three. In the week after I bought it, I've bought three more Prima cds. They're not as good as this, but I'll keep buying his cds in the hope that they might contain one track as good as any on The Wildest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally the original re-issue of"The Wildest"by Louis&Keely!, May 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Wildest (Audio CD)
With original LP cover artwork too! The music on this CD, which is a re-issue of the original LP "The Wildest",features Keely Smith, Sam Butera and The Witnesses. There is a lot of music on this CD reminiscent of New Orleans jazz, only wilder. Loius Prima sounds like an Italian Satchmo, and Keely's sweet voice is refreshing. This classic set includes "Bona Sera" and "Jump Jive N Wail." A highly enjoyable set, recommended especially to jazz collectors.
