From the Author

My inspiration to write this book arose when I found that the available books on wildflowers were fairly general in their descriptions of where specific wildflowers were located and when they bloomed. As I hiked the trails in the Berkshires, I began making lists of the wildflowers I saw. It occurred to me that others might also be interested in my observations, so I decided to make this information available in paperback form. I also photographed the flowers to provide readers with additional help in identifying the many species of wildflowers in the Berkshires.

Phyllis Pryzby is a naturalist and photographer who conducts wildflower walks and presents slide shows about wildflowers in the Berkshires.
