I looked at about every electronic call out there for under $150 and this is by far the best bang for your buck! I have not found one sound that I do not like. I have had it for about a month now (using it about twice a week) and though I have not seen a coyote yet (I did get them howling), I got a wolf to howl back to the male wolf howl. I have also had a peregrine falcon within 15 feet of the call and I have called in MANY crows to well within shotgun range. As far a the range of the remote goes I have been up to 100 yards and it works great just as long as there is not to much brush in the way. There was one problem I had with it was when I got a little snow on the speakers and the call would turn on for about 5 seconds then just shut off. So I cleaned the speakers off the best I could while I was in the woods and it worked fine after that and I continued my hunt. This is a great call and I would recommend it to friends. One warning try keeping it as warm as possible.

Update: It has been six days since my first review of this product and I have called In two coyotes, one of them to within 15 feet of the call and only 25 yards from me before I shot it.

I purchased the Wild Game Innovations Flextone Game Call. The call showed up FAST! I plugged the unit in for 14 hours (min of 10 hours charge time in instructions) The remote charged fine but the unit its self did not charge at all. I put my own batteries in and the unit worked with charged batteries. I am not sure if it was the batteries that came with the unit or if the unit itself was not charging the batteries??? With the fresh batteries and a full charge on the remote, the remote would not control the unit. I called wild game innovations, it appears that the remote was not tuned to the main unit and they could not tell if it was the built in charger or the rechargeable batteries that where bad. They wanted me to return the unit for repair or replacement. They would not pay for shipping to return the unit and it could take up to 60 days for me to get the unit back. (unacceptable! I also spent 52 min on hold, again unacceptable!) I contacted Amazon and they would replace the unit that day, and ship it out within 24 hours and I could return the defective unit at no charge and they would refund my shipping cost to get the unit to them. Yes, nice to get some customer service. I will update this review when I receive the replacement unit and see how it works.

UPDATE: I have had the replacement and I tested it out at home as soon as I got my hands on it. But, wanted to test it in the field before updating my review.

First the replacement came quick and they even paid for the shipping to send the unit back... so they get top rating for the return process.

Second: The replacement unit only took 4 days to get to me from the time I filled out the on line form... again top rating for the shipping on the replacement.

I've had this call for several weeks now testing it out. I'm impressed and very happy with it so far. It comes with lithium rechargeable batteries for the call and remote. It has fold down feet and comes with a carry/hanging strap. The battery compartments and charge socket have weather seals so it might be somewhat rain proof. I don't have the guts to deliberately verify that. What's nice is that the remote nests inside the call and automatically charges when you recharge the call. The unit has a front and rear facing speaker. Via the remote or the main unit, each speaker can be activated independently or both used at once. The remote has a small (~2" long) antenna that flips out at the push of a button. So far, I have tested it to 200 yards with a few trees obstructing the line of sight and it works reliably, antenna out or stowed. Sound volume seems to be adequate for here in the midwest and is adjustable on the fly from the remote. It might be a little shy on volume out in the wide open western states or on a windy day but as I said is probably more than adequate for reasonable hunting conditions. No problems calling in crows so far from about 1/4 mile away. I'll try to report back on calling coyotes later in the season. There is no point educating them beforehand. When using the remote, one selects the animal, then the type of call, and press send to program the main unit. To start and stop the call, press mute on the remote. The volume and speaker selection can be changed while the call is in progress. The remote can be turned off and on to conserve battery and the call still responds without any intervention.

I've also read complaints about battery life being short and initially thought that also.

I didn't buy mine on amazon, but I'd thought I'd give you my review on it since I hunt a lot and I've used this caller religiously for the past 10 months..if your looking for a foxpro, well you better buy a foxpro. This is a good caller if you want some decent basic calls for a wide variety of species. I deer hunt and predator hunt. I have killed a coyote by using the caller to call it in .I have called in quite a few with this caller. Around 5-8 or so. I get them to howl a lot as well. The range in my opinion is not that great. I have yet to get over 40 yards with it and I live in the desert. I usually keep it next to me, but that defeats the purpose of the remote and getting the attention off of you. The caller is fairly loud. Not deafening , but the coyotes hear it.

The pros: rechargeable batteries., batteries hold a long charge (even after a lot of use) ., easy to carry and lightweight., decent amount of coyote and rabbit calls, independent speaker control, easy to use.

The cons: Range., ability to jump back to a previous call doesn't exist, the remote display., the length of the actual sound and repetitiveness or the sound.

Overall, for the money it's decent. If this is what you can afford then buy it. It will work for you but don't expect the best. Me personally, I would save up for a foxpro . Made in America and so customizable.
