When initially purchased, we wanted a pack for our then 2+ year-old son to use for carrying his nap blanket to preschool, or hat, sunglasses and jacket for daytime outings, and/or a small lunch or snack. Our first choice was the Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack which in some ways was more appropriate to his size, yet extremely limited in capacity (it wouldn't fit his knit blanket without me literally stuffing it in). No, the Littlelife was probably better suited for the brand new walkers, if that's the intention of the parents.

Enter this Wildkin pack. Dimensionally, it is about 2x the capacity of the Littlelife -- mainly evident in the depth, i.e. how far it sticks off the back. It's also probably an inch or so wider than your typical 2 year-old's torso. It would be easy to overstuff, so we try to remain conscious of that and limit loads to the above mentioned accessories. We eventually added lumps of (heavy) homemade play-dough, which he *Loves* to drag in to school to distribute to his teachers.

The pack isn't as well constructed as the Littlelife, but it's better than some backpacks I remember using to tote books to school when I was growing up. In fact, or son is now five, and with 3 years of regular usage on it, the original pack remains in ~excellent~ condition. The "fabric" is a relatively rigid material that so far has been resilient to being dragged occasionally on the sidewalk, and the exterior doesn't seem very absorbent, making it easy to wipe clean. The top hanging loop tore loose at the stitching on the 2nd of these packs we purchased (for our 2nd son), that was was easily sewed back in place.

My son is starting kindergarten this year and was very excited about a space backpack. We ordered the coordinating lunch box too. We love the lunch box but the backpack is way too small. We got a note from the school with a supply list that stated not to send your child to school with a mini-backpack because their daily folder wouldn't fit. Just out of curiousity I tried to put a standard Peachy folder in this backpack and sure enough it doesn't fit. A little disappointed and sent the item back.

This is a very nice, high quality, little backpack that is a good size for a preschooler. The construction (zippers, mesh pocket) seem like they will hold up for a long time. I am very happy with this product and my son loves it! I will definitely purchase Wildkin backpacks in the future.

I am writing this review 9 months after we purchased this back pack. My 2 year old, now 3 year old, son uses this back pack to take afew items to daycare every day. About 2 months ago the strap that you hang the pack up with started to rip. I contacted Wildkin and their customer service was excellent. They said they have a 1 year warranty and would replace my bag for free, no need to send the old one back. The replacement bag was on back order so they allowed me to choose any bag as a replacement. I had the bag less than 1 week from my original contact. Excellent customer service!!!

Bought this backpack for my 3 year old for traveling and school. It's perfect for both. I absolutely love it.

First, it is the perfect size for a younger child. My 3 year old can get it on and off and carry it without a problem. I was worried it might be too big, but it fit her well and is a great size for the next few years. I expect this to work at least until she's 5 or 6.

Second, the compartments are just what I needed them to be for school/travel. The main compartment is big enough for a lunchbox or some books, games and toys, and the front pocket is great for snacks and small things like crayons or tissues. The side pouch is great for sippy cups. And the colors are very bright and happy and the pattern is really cute. It's hard to tell but there is a reflective strip along the smaller pocket, which I like for when we're out in the dark.

Third, the overall craftsmanship is good. I'm very happy with how durable this backpack is.

My daughter and I are both very happy with this product. So much so, I bought a second backpack for my infant son to grow into!

Best kid's backpack. My 2 girls (2 and 3) each have one and they love it. Its the perfect size and I love it because its BPA and PVC free!! I would have given it 5 stars if the top hook of the bag had not ripped off. However, I called the manufacturer and they replaced it right away! Great product and great company to work with!

This is the perfect backpack for my 2 year old son. The main pocket is large enough to store diapers, wipes, toys and more. The small pocket is great for snacks. He is not quite able to put it on his own back, but he will grow into it soon. I prefer carrying this around than a large diaper bag until then.

The bag itself is great, used it as a diaper nag at Disney, but the top handle ripped after just a few days of using it :-(
