We wanted a pack for our 2 year (+ 4 months) old son to use for carrying his nap blanket to pre-school, and hat, sunglasses and jacket for outings, and/or a small lunch or snack. Our first choice was the Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack which in some ways was more appropriate, yet extremely limited in capacity (wouldn't take his knit blanket without literally stuffing it in). No, the Littlelife was probably better suited for the brand new walkers, if that's the intention of the parents.

Enter this Wildkin pack. Dimensionally, it is about 2x the capacity of the Littlelife -- mainly evident in the depth, i.e. how far it sticks off the back. It's also probably an inch or so wider than our son's torso. It would be easy to overstuff, so we're trying to remain conscious of that and limit it to the above mentioned accessories, and we'll soon try a lump of (heavy) homemade play-dough, which he *Loves* to drag in to school in a plastic shopping bag and hand to his teachers.

The pack isn't as well constructed as the Littlelife, but it's better than some backpacks I remember using to tote books to school when I was growing up. The "fabric" is a relatively rigid material that so far has been resilient to being dragged occasionally on the sidewalk, and the exterior doesn't seem very absorbent, making it easy to wipe clean.

The straps are wide (for a toddler) and lightly padded. Even though they look too big, our son hasn't expressed any discomfort (and of course the load is light), and I haven't noticed them accidentally slipping off of his shoulders.

This is a very nice, high quality, little backpack that is a good size for a preschooler. The construction (zippers, mesh pocket) seem like they will hold up for a long time. I am very happy with this product and my son loves it! I will definitely purchase Wildkin backpacks in the future.

My son is starting kindergarten this year and was very excited about a space backpack. We ordered the coordinating lunch box too. We love the lunch box but the backpack is way too small. We got a note from the school with a supply list that stated not to send your child to school with a mini-backpack because their daily folder wouldn't fit. Just out of curiousity I tried to put a standard Peachy folder in this backpack and sure enough it doesn't fit. A little disappointed and sent the item back.

The bag itself is great, used it as a diaper nag at Disney, but the top handle ripped after just a few days of using it :-(

This back pack is perfect for any boy who goes pre-school or K- level and loves all of the action cars/trucks like police car, ambulance car, tow truck etc.. My son is 4 years old and he loves this backpack. I bought this for him to go to pre-school. The material is good. It is very well made. It has a pocket on the side to put a good size of water bottle. Perfect size of backpack for pre-school to K- level. The backpack is big enough to fit a regular size of folder; but it will not fit a regular size of ring binder. It is not recommend for first grade.

My 3-yo was ready for a backpack just like the ones his big brothers carry, and this was perfect! He is so proud of his robots and the size is just right for him. He carries it proudly!

Great size and styles for preschool, pre-k. My son was so excited and proud to walk into school with it on first day of preschool. It is a simple design and has space for lunch and a few other items, but it's perfect for this age group.

I purchased this item for my two year old. He loves it and was delighted to have this item to bring with him to his first day of pre-school. As it didn't come from one of the local box stores it is easy for him to identify at snack time and he has no problem running to the cubbies and finding his bag and therefore his snack. There is ample room (we only pack diapers, snack and a change of clothes). The beverage pocket on side is great for sippy cups. It is still a little big for him to carry, but he will grow into it and it is of good enough construction that it should last a few years.
Besides it seems most of the other parents carry their children's backpacks too at this stage!
