Meet the Wickedly Handsome Winston brothers...,

This review is from: Wildly Winston (Paperback)
Four fabulous brothers who will make you fall in love with them. Meet the Winston brothers...Tangled Sheets - Bar owner Cole has been watching shy Sophie for weeks and he wants to know her better. Then one night, in walks her not-so-shy twin sister, Shelly, to enter a contest sponsored by Cole's bar. Cole knows it's really Sophie in disguise, but why not take advantage of the change? We get introduced to the Winston brothers in this one. Cole is the eldest and makes my toes curl. Great story of when good girls who want to be bad meet their match. Tangled Dreams - A paranormal-type story, Chase has known Allison for a while, but suddenly he's hearing her thoughts inside his head. This certainly gets his attention and when he agrees to accompany her to a haunted house, the sparks fly hot and heavy between them. Whew! Chase Winston and ghosts make for a memorable tale. With Tangled Dreams, Lori Foster really started setting the tone for the series. Tangled Images - Mack may be the youngest Winston, but don't let youth fool you. When he agrees to model lingerie for a catalog, it doesn't take much for flames to ignite between Mack and the photographer, Jessica. Who cares if she's a little older and has a daughter? Love knows no bounds. Great story! I would've loved it if Tangled Images had been longer. But we got lucky... Wild - a full length Winston brother story! We've seen glimpses of Zane in the previous stories. He always appears irreverent and we knew the woman to make him come to his knees would have to be special. Well...meet Tamara. She's mysterious and talks Gypsy stuff which drives him insane, but soon he's crazy for her. When unexplained things begin happening at Tamara's shop, it's Zane to the rescue. And whew...Wild is a scorcher! We also get caught up on all the Winston brothers and get introduced to rakish cousin Joe Winston. If you missed the Winston brothers the first time around, or want to revisit them again, I highly recommend picking up WILDLY WINSTON. This is definitely one of my favorite, all time series ever.

This book contains four stories. They are similar in that guy meets girl. Guy is gorgeous confirmed bachelor, but when he meets her, he is immediately smitten and desires only her. He wants to protect her and take care of her. She is fragile, wounded or weak in some way. He patiently woos her and brings her out of it. By the end, they get together and he wants to have children with her. As Amazon reviewer Susy Notwen recently commented to me "(some) novels are meant to be like ice cream sundaes; sweet, somewhat filling with a little too much whipped cream --- but whoever disses too much whipped cream? --- We all need a little excess in our lives." So, if a reader is in the mood for a Susy-style ice cream sundae, this book should do it. Thank you Susy, I loved your thoughts.Unfortunately, I've been spoiled with a lot of great writing (as I define it), so I look for that. I'm not looking for ice cream. Therefore, my ratings may be lower than some readers like. 3.5 stars for TANGLED IMAGES. Nice characters. Nice plot. I enjoyed it even though it was predictable. Mack met Jessica in college two years ago. He has always desired her, but she snubbed him. She was attracted to him, but felt she was not desireable, and she felt he had too many other girlfriends. When they meet two years later, Mack learns she is divorced with a teenage daughter. He wins her over and loves her daughter as well. Sexual language: mild. Number of sex scenes: one. Setting: Thomasville, Kentucky. Copyright: 2000. Genre: contemporary romance. 3 stars for TANGLED SHEETS. Nice, sweet, pleasant story. Sophie is shy. She comes into Cole's bar every day after work. For seven months, Cole and Sophie have been attracted to each other but neither one says or does anything about it. Sophie tells Cole, her identical twin sister Shelly will be visiting. Shelly does not exist. Sophie dresses up as a sultry Shelly, and attempts to seduce Cole for one night of lust. My main problem was that I couldn't believe someone like Cole wouldn't ask Shelly out sometime during those seven months. Sexual language: mild. Number of sex scenes: four. Setting: current day Thomasville, Kentucky. Copyright: 1999. Genre: contemporary romance. 2 stars for TANGLED DREAMS. It was ok, but I don't recommend it. A couple hid some jewels in a house before they died. Now as ghosts, they want their heir, Allison, to have a passionate love with someone in order to find the jewels. She has desired Chase for a long time but he was never interested. The ghosts ignite his interest by causing him to read Allison's thoughts. Allison was too much of a shrinking-violet-type wimp for me. When Chase asked questions, she would mumble and mutter and not be direct. In one case, he said a harmful intruder was in the house. She denied it by saying it was probably a prankster, but she was wrong. The plot did not interest me. Sexual language: moderate. Number of sex scenes: one. Setting: current day Thomasville, Kentucky. Copyright: 1999. Genre: contemporary fantasy romance. 2 stars for WILD. Tamara was an orphan and was taken in by gypsy relatives whom she currently supports. Tamara runs a gypsy-style fortune telling store. She reads palms, makes astrology charts and intuits the future. Zane owns a computer store next door. Someone is breaking into her shop doing damage. Zane asks his cousin Joe to help protect her and uncover the problem. At times, there was too much pondering in the minds of Zane and Tamara. At times, I wanted it to be over. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: five. Setting: current day Thomasville, Kentucky. Copyright: 2002. Genre: contemporary romance.

Good read for a rainy day,
By Jay (Indiana) - See all my reviews

I love Lori Foster's books and quite enjoyed the first 1 or 2 however she is not the best paranormal romanitic writer. The first story makes buying the book worth the price. However since I didn't like the last two I had to give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I generally enjoy Lori Foster because I know what to expect when I get into one of her stories. I did enjoy Wildly Winston. However, because these stories were on the short side, they did feel a bit rushed. What I mean is this: LF's stories are generally not too deep, and the character development and relationship development is usually just enough to make you feel like there is a connection there. Even when the romance develops over the course of, say, a week or two (this does happen often in her books) you don't necessarily feel like it was all that quick. With these books, however, it really did feel like BAM and there you have it.I do recommend these stories, but make sure you are in the mood for quick, fun, and light. (Say No to Joe? by Lori Foster is a separate book that begins her Visitation series. This book is actually pretty great and features Joe Winston, cousin to the Winston brothers, and is a follow up to the books in Wildly Winston. Joe and Luna (the heroine) are both introduced in Wildly Winston)

very good,
This review is from: Wildly Winston (Paperback)
this was a good book, it is hard to rate anthologies, but i really liked the first three stories. i would have given this a 5 if the last story had been a little better. it was the longest of the stories, and i felt it kind of dragged a little, or was repetitive. plus zane annoyed me by being so heavy-handed, and tamara let him get away with it. but other than that a very good book, with stories you will love.

Ok I know that this is a reissue, but you have got to get the book, even if just for the cover. YUMMO!!!I'm sure some of you are familiar with the Winston Brothers, I mean who could forget Cole, Chase, Mack and Zane???? These are extraordinary guys coming from a close knit family, not only are they gorgeous but when they love, they do it with no restrains. They will make you fall in love with them and leave you wishing you were the women that snatched them up. It's great to have all the Winstons in one book and with ONE GORGEOUS COVER! Need I say more? It's pure Lori Foster at her best!!! Can't ever go wrong with her books, amazing!
